Hey you guys, never really looked on the forum, but I just wanted to ask around.

So, I just recently hit lv80. Up to around lv60, I could more or less do whatever I wanted and be able to kill everything. However, when I started running dungeons (I was so late to the party there haha) and around when I hit lv80, I started getting my butt kicked. I can get around and do stuff, but among my group of friends (5 including me), I feel like I am the most useless when it comes to fractals and dungeons. I do alright damage, but I die super fast, to the point where I am more of a liability than anything. Any tips on how to do better?

My current build:
lv80 d/p and shortbow thief
25/30/0/15/0

for 6-0, i use:
hide in shadows
shadow refuge
Assassin’s signet (power signet)
signet of shadows (speed signet)
Dagger Storm

I really want to ask now because I am in the process of gathering materials for lv400 leatherworking armor. Or is there another armor I should get?

Very noobed/new to the game and thief is my only toon.

As far as survivability:
do not listen to me b/c I too, like i said, am very unknowledgeable, but the “deception” utility skills, which you do utilize refuge, and the trait line, Shadow Arts, are how I atleast defend myself.

As far as armor goes, IDK if you’ve done any of the “temple” events in Orr?… but w/o spending a single copper, you can buy a full set of lvl 80 exotic gear. Assuming you, like me, leveled up doing events whenever they were in the vicinity, you need only event farm a little more and you should have all the karma required to purchase a full set of armor. Each piece is 42,000 karma from the karma vendor who sponsors that temple’s event.

For dungeons you can swap your utilities around a lot. Smokescreen and caltrops can be really good. Swap your heals as needed too and make sure you learn how to use them all. Your build is quite fragile with few condition cures so you will feel the pain quite often. Don’t be afraid to change your traits completely to try new things out. It doesn’t cost much in the long run.

You can get exotic armors from the auction hall, crafting, dungeon currency, and karma vendors. Auction hall prices can work out to be cheaper than crafting. Dungeons can help you get a full set with specific stats and that’s the way I’d recommend. If you run a dungeon often you can understand the fights and then see how they change when you use different skills and weapons.
