Just to be sure...
With the incoming 10th patch, shadow return will be given a cast time, which means that it will be unusable while stunned, I know that.
But does not the cast time also means that shadow return will be QUEUED behind your current active skill?
So, just to be sure… If you see a big hit coming, but you are already performing a skill, let’s say, a pistol whip… Will you be able to shadowstep reactively? Or will you be stuck on your animation till the PW ends (eating the big hit, ofc) because Shadow return is queued?
It’s been discussed that you’ll have to take it like a man.
well with pistol whip you’re probably gonna be okay since it gives you evade. but yes, it’s a big nerf.
So it is as I feared… Calling it a ‘big nerf’ is like calling Hiroshima ‘a loud explosion’.
So, essentially, it will be a defensive ability that I won’t be able to use when I need it, only when I don’t need it. Wonderful.
An absurd change that no doubt will be reverted as soon as the thief-hater that somehow bluffed its way into the thief balance & test team is discovered and fired from the company.

hahaha i could not say it better
i was a bit conservative, i actually feel that this is a big enough nerf to kill off S/D set completely from PvP/WvW.
it is a big nerf if you don’t use it too much, but for competitive play it’s crucial and can be considered as a make or break skill.
If I am to stay constructive, respectful and polite, I’ll just say only an idiot would come up with this ‘balance change’. If somehow they feel it needs nerfing, adding more initiative cost would do the trick.
and we have a award wining genius ty . and messing with infiltrate strike like they r going to just means not use the sword at all or u will die it will be a useless skill kind a real bummer . i am srry but i don’t even think perma stealth is op and i don’t even use it i don’t think its op because even with perma stealth i can use a tele nuke guard . crit shatter mesmer . hammer war . engine is like the best class for killing thief’s i feel . but the tele nuke guard being the best i think because u teleport to them and can kill them before that even move u only need to see them for a sec and that thief is dead every time that tele skill is charged its not even funny i wish i had a vid

So much pessimism. I think Anet knows what they are doing, lol.
mmmm i think its just we know this is a bad change and we dont want to start to complain after it happens no one wants there thief to suck for how ever long it will take for them to go and fix it again . there r no good sides to this nerf. but my biggest problem is the infiltrate strike not being able to use the skill when stunned = dead thief no matter what way u look at it it will turn in to a almost useless skill… but i don’t feel good about the perma stealth i really don’t feel like it is op but that just might be me because i know how to kill a thief . but i guess if any thing should be nerfed its the perma stealth that was semi reasonable . but the infiltrate strike nerf is the word thing i have ever heard and the added cast time lol just throw both s/d s/p wep combos out the window …. ps the mesmer will be a better stealth build soon they can go in stealth a lot now if played right ! a thief should have more stealth than a mesmer easy! not to mention how powerful mesmers r don’t want them to get nerfed to death like the thief

Like with flamekissed armor and the original change of reveal from 3 to 4 seconds? Sometimes they are a little misguided in the direction they take aspects of the game in.
