Karka and stealth question
The karka does not like being invaded by thieves who can’t kill them 1v1!
because all of their attacks are channeled, a seeking bullet to kill you hehehe
karka have a lot of channeled attacks, which tend to showcase a flaw in GW2’s stealth implementation.
If fighting an enemy who has begun casting an attack, stealthing before the cast is finished does not break the targeting of the attack.
So if the karka sees you, starts an attack (barrel roll, acid spray, etc.) and you stealth, it will finish executing that attack against you before it forgets where you are. This behavior is the same with every other mob and player ability in the game.

Pretty much what everyone else has said. If you’ve drawn aggro and the mob has started attacking before you stealth, you need to dodge the following attack or it will still hit you. The channelled ranged mult-hit attack is the worst offender. You have to dodge that twice in a row if you went too close.
Resident Thief
Im not an expert in Thieves, but he seems to take these short teleports only near the OP. At the entire video the guy doesnt seem lagged, besides the teleport only affect that thief, and any of the other players. Just my opinion.
Funny thief war, btw.
It isn’t just Karka, and it is a really annoying problem and I think it should get fixed, ANY channeled attack will hit you if they begin to channel it whilst you are still visible. Like a Warriors Rifle Burst skill, Killshot, you see them start charging it up, so you pop stealth, but NOOOOOOO it still hits you. wth.
The problem with the channeling attack has been discussed for months.Sadly in a world, where Stealth is labeled as OP and abusive ability(same as pretty much any thief ability),there is no chance this to be changed…
I asked in this forum once:“If any other class pop ups block or mist or ignore pain or any invulnerability ability, should channeling abilities continue to damage him, because they already started?”
The answer was:“So you want Thief to become even more OP?”

ZLE said it right, but at least for now when we discuss thieves with non-thieves and they say there’s no counter to stealth, you can point out that a long channelled ability will track us and hurt us pretty much negating the point of stealth in the first place. Look at it as a balancing measure.
