Per the topic title, I’m wondering if anyone has seen a pistol skin that makes the pistol look more like a sawed-off shotgun; a much longer barrel then what I have now.

And a dagger skin that makes the blade look long and skinny, sort of like a samurai blade but in dagger form?

I’ve got the rest of my look down, and I’m happy with the armor I’ve found, but I cannot find a suitable P/D skin, and of course not being to “Preview” in the TP is hindering my search.

Kenshi’s or claw of desert is worth checking out based on your description.

Molten (CoF) may be the closest to a large barrel that’s sawed off.

It is quite difficult to find good dagger and pistol skins. I guess because they are so small compared to other weapons even if they look good you can barely see them. Daggers and pistols need more glowy type stuff to make them visible despite their small size.

The closest to a sawed-off that I’ve seen is the most basic pistol model in the game, which you can check out by going into the Heart of the Mists. Should be the pistol you getg by default. The other option is to go to guildhead and start looking at weapon models by search for what you see on theTP. Based on your description, the Ruinmaker is also a pretty good bet looks wise. Search either “Ruinmaker” or “Iron Flintlock” on guildhead. Dagger-wise, Claw of the Desert or maybe the Aureate(human tier 2 model) dagger would be worth looking at.

I really like the Mystic Pistol skin. It doesn’t remind a sawed-off, but has a long barrel and pretty sleek design. The skin is similar to CoE dungeon weapon skins but in blue.

Penetrating Aureate pistols all look like long, sawed-off shotguns. They can be found on the AH rather cheaply (2-5s).

Penetrating Aureate (esp. the pistol) and the Ebon Vanguard (both; from Ebonhawke for 9k Karma per skin) get my votes. The Ebonhawke daggers & swords have a very contemporary design.

I just usually go to the Heart of The Mists and preview items in pvp lockers. Once I find an item I like, I just search for it guildhead.com, look what pve item has the same model and then hunt that weapon down in TP or something.

P.S. gw2db shows a lot of weapon models as basic white gear for some reason. The Punisher and Maul are the same, yet model preview doesn’t display them as such and doesn’t link them.

Yeah, Guildhead.com seems to have a better preview system, but if you’re looking properly you can easily find the correct models and preview them without having all the extra page loading of guildhead.

Well, for starters, you have to make sure you’re using the right filters to get to the results you expect. I usually look for unique icons that might point to a special model as well. Above all, I keep my mind open and keep looking until I’ve exhausted all the options. Sometimes things are put in the databases wrong, so if you find one of these, you accept the fact and move on. If something has the wrong model preview, you look for the next best thing.

Don’t forget to abuse the heck out of the “Same model as” tab on the lower portion of the page

For a sawed off look, maybe try an Ogre pistol?
