Hey Everyone,

TL;DR I am looking for someone to help me with PvP and learning thief. Preferably over voice chat(Discord)

I am a long time GW2 Player like most of us here. I enjoyed PvP in the early days and played it here and there with a friend who has sense gotten married, had two kids, and has retired from MMOs. We usually duo’d, and we did okay. Ended up in Ruby when there were still leagues.

I know a lot of pressure is put on a thief in PvP, and I would like a deeper understanding of what it all entails. Deeper understand of when to fight or flight, and situations to decide kitten this kitten im out before attempting it.

I have an understanding of D/P and staying mobile, but watching for example Sindrener play thief. He seems so fluid and when I watch my play and during playing it feels a bit clunky.

So if anyone would have time to kind of just chill with me on my discord and go over stuff with me here and there and practice with me I would be greatly happy.

I am part of the Teef guild, just no one is on usually or repping so I figured this would be a good place to ask.

You can just PM me in game. I am usually on every other day if not daily from 8pm-1230pm EST.

Hey thanks for the reply! Much appreciated. What time zone are you/what time are you usually on? My nightly schedule is more routine than it is set in stone so I could adjust to convenience you.

I might be able to log on tonight for a bit around 6:30pm EST. Monday-Thursday I sometimes have 30 Ish minutes to play until I make dinner after I get back from work.

I also am much more free on weekends between 10am and 6pm EST, depending on when I’m cooking/shopping/etc.

I could be on around 6:30 for a little bit. Might need more help but could do an intro possibly for sure! Weekends also work as well.

I think I’ve seen you online a few times already, so we might connect around the same time. By the way, I usually have all guild channels active son don’t hesitate to speak in the guild chat even if you see no one rep.

You can make an EU f2p account to learn. Learning core will indefinitely help on DD

That is actually a super smart idea!

Yep, starting up with core is a nice idea. You will have a completely different flow playing it.

Jumping in the fray at the right moment and not whenever you want because you have 6 dodges (you can go overkill with berserker amulet).Start with unranked on core and learn to snowball from there.

I’ll help you out this weekend in NA if I see you online. Post your EU account and I can join you there too on my alt.

I will make a free one tonight. Would it be more beneficial to just learn Daredevil D/P or will getting good with core be better since DD will just give me more dodges to do the antics that I already refined?

I’d say…both?

Core isn’t necessarily worse in some regards (like damage). It will suffer in survivability, but you can use Acrobatics like Daredevil to boost survivability in a similar dodge focused fashion.

Not tonight, because of my busy social calendar, but tomorrow I can work with you on both. We can start in Core and move to DD.
