Q:
Last Refuge
A:
Nope, this trait triggers when you are low health, if you are causing damage when it triggers you are revealed. So if you play a Shadow Arts build you are better off waiting for it to trigger when you go low, it often happens that the thief casts Cloak And Dagger when it triggers, causing him to get revealed and die.
Same with Instinctual Response. Both can however be useful, if you utilize them and trust them. Both take advantage of secondary effects.
Thanks. But what happens when I already have the revealed debuff when reaching 25% health? Does Last Refuge trigger without doing anything or does it trigger as soon as the reveal debuff is gone?
If you already are revealed when it triggers then it should have no effect whatsoever.
One might have thought that fixing such controversial traits might be a priority but instead they insist of messing about with our initiative regeneration and other things instead of fixing what’s really broken.
Gets wasted if you are already revealed and stacks additional stealth duration if you are already in stealth when it triggers.
Many thieves hate this trait, as you can imagine. But it also saves thieves from time to time. The main problem imo is the low health threshold for a 10.8k base hp, it triggers when you are at 2.7k health, and many attacks in this game causes that amount of dmg without even critting, this sets the thief in panic and causes him to cast Blackpowder>Heartseeker or Cloak and Dagger, with LR triggering at the same time as CnD is channeling, also the thief may be auto attacking at the same time as it triggers, and since it doesn’t cancel actions, they get revealed then as well.
Hm thanks. So, at the end Last Refuge can be useful or horrible, depending on the timing of your attacks.
IMO Anet should just rework Last Refuge to trigger Black Powder (smoke field) instead of Blinding Powder.
well good sir, thats a nice idea and would help alot. oh wait…anet prefers reducing cooldown so thieves die more often to it.
