I wanted to get a poll on what the community thinks is the better weapon to get first. I personally am sitting at the cross road of make the gift of incinerator or the unicorn statue and i can complete a legendary. I just happen to be torn on which to make as i normally and prefer to run p/d for pvp/pve dungeon but for farming orr events and in recent dungeons i run a modified burst spec. So what do you all think would be your first choice if given you were in my spot and could choose? Not looking for any flame just an honest opinion of what the other players think is the best or best to get first legendary for our class.

Its all personal opinion but I just finished incinerator on my thief it is without a doubt one of the top designed legendaries. I had my doubts but when you really look at the detail it is really good.

If you have it off hand you get all the effects but you don’t get the flame aura when you switch to it everything else is there. When you throw it there is a different sound its really cool.

I have twilight on my mesmer also and I feel like incinerator is definitely a Top Legendary.

The bow is meh I think its girly but its all taste.

out of the two, I would say incinerator. Personally I am working towards the Bolt.

I’m going for Incinerator while a fellow guild member (another thief) is going for The Dreamer since he really likes using short bows. But yeah, all personal preference.

All that really matters is personal preference and justification, on my thief I’ll be getting The Dreamer because it’s the weapon I use the most in dungeons and WvW, however most thieves have a SB equipped which means that SB has enough merit for most players.
Another thing to consider, if you got Incinerator (or Bolt/Quip) then you are effectively forced to use that weapon just to justify the cost, but the fact that 95% (magic number) of thieves use a SB regardless of the other weapon set just means that in the long run it will affect your build potential less than having one of the other three.

The only problem with incinerator is that while invis, your footprints and weapon can still be seen.

That’s not true. One of my guildies has it and i saw it happen. I don’t know if they changed it, but it is visible to other people.

@coffeebot I believe Bolt is the sword (1h) and Quip is the pistol. Another guild member of mine is going for Bolt. But yeah, everything you said is true.

Do the foot prints ever show up for enemies in WvW?

Personally, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it (which is sort of a let down, I would want the enemy to see me in my full awesomeness).

Hmm. Decisions, decisions.

I have the Dreamer.

It has no particle effects and adds no footprints. That’s really disappointing.

All it does is fire rainbows and add a somewhat annoying sound effect.

If you’re afk I doubt anyone would even notice it’s a Legendary.

The Incinerator on the other hand is barely visible on an Asura. But at least you get nice particle effects and footprints.

the incinerator is small on an asura but when i use the human potion i dont think it looks as good personally

the dreamer on the other hand, even though its girly. the rainbows are just noticible by far in a huge fight in wvw or in pve.

my guild has over 40 legendaries, when we do wvw or pve large scale events the rainbows stand out.

the longbow foots steps are by far the best looking, longest lasting and most noticible

the incinerator on the other hand are cool, but quite small and short lasting

i’d still go for dreamer first if i had to do it again

Not only this, but on thrown item steal animations and on dancing dagger, you actually throw the Incinerator which is just awesome.

I made mine little under two weeks ago and I am incredibly happy with it, definitely the best choice I made.
