First..I am not as good at playing this game as most of you. But I do enjoy it . I do have some experience with having an 80 warrior, necro, and mesmer. I started a thief before the patch and I am at level 24. I was just barely able to defeat anything that was at the same level I was let alone 2 enemies at the same time. Now after the patch with S/P and SB I am barely lossing any health on anything that is at the same level and beating anything 2 levels above me in PVE. I have 0 % ferocity and using mostly power and vitality armor at this level, but for some reason have an easier time after the patch. Maybe I don’t know no better because like I said I am not one of those real good players and I know nothing about all these numbers evreyone is throwing around but I am doing good. Maybe when I get up to 80 I will know what the complaints are all about. justme

If you read the Patch Notes, you’ll find this;

“Balancing Creature Stats

Creatures in the level range of 11-79 have had their stats adjusted to account for the player obtaining traits and stats from trait lines later on in the leveling process."

http://sirvincentiii.com ~ In the beginning…there was Tarnished Coast…
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.

So then I was right… I will know what all the noise is about when I reach 80. Unitl then I will just enjoy defeating the creatures a little easier then before the patch. Thanks for the note.

Yeah, it’s a good thing because you can pull a larger group than usual so that you level up faster.

It’s better to defeat large number mobs of the same level than beating a mob that are higher level than you — better exp with the larger number of mobs since you can beat them faster than those of higher level.

Try using Pistol 5# + Sword Basic Attack.
If the mobs are meelee, you can kill 5~6 mobs at the same time, easily.
You may add a Minor Sigil of Fire for some extra AoE damage.

Another good stuff is using Shortbow + Signet of Malice.
Use Poison field + Sb 2# for area damage + weakness (pretty much cut enemy damage by 50%).
If you need heal, spam Sb 2# so you can score a few extra ticks of healing trough the signet.

Grinding thief is insanely ease once you understand our mechanics. Its even easier than other classes, since we can rely entirely on weapon attacks.
