No no fellow players I have not gone mad, I have grown a bit experimental though. I’ve been seeing a lot of hate going around in general so I want to see if this can happen. I propose that we theorycraft a build together. Why? I for one am curious to see the mentality per se behind some of the builds we’ve got going around and those behind them.

To start off, this will be a PvP build, sPvP to be specific since I doubt this’ll be meta as it stands since what we have currently fits us for the current PvP meta. However, that doesn’t mean it cannot be effective and fun to use. As ideas and general consensus are made, I’ll update the OP with the build. Hopefully, if this gets done I can try this baby out I believe the hardest part is starting so I’ll put forth my idea:

I want to use something I never see in general, now don’t jump out of your chairs now, but I think we can try a S/D|S/P build. The main utilities of the sword are kept while offering the more defensively offensive playstyle of SD and the offensively defensive playstyle of SP to essentially give us more power and blinds as well as interrupts when needed or more evasion and some boon control when needed. I really want to do this combo but if anyone has any other ideas you can list them. However, if all is good, I think the traits are a good place to start.
An obvious 0 in SA. But should we put some points in DA? Maybe only 10? Or maybe none at all. Even still I’m fairly certain a full 30 in CS should be implemented. So so far what I think is that this should be:

I play these kinds of builds in my sleep, because I get bored with the meta too quickly.
Here’s a few of my builds that would fit you perfectly if you’re looking for something different:

I may add more builds in the future since not all of them are shared currently, but if you’re interested in any of the builds or have any questions, Red, feel free to let me know. I’ve tried covering nearly every aspect of the thief, and these are some of the builds I’ve picked from my monstrosity of a collection (1.5 years of wonky, crazy builds!) that I think would suit what you’re looking for.

EDIT: All of these builds are balanced in that you can easily port them over to PvP. Shortbus is hilariously fun for point bunkering, especially when running it with S/D as your secondary set.

problem is, only reason why ppl bring thieves in tpvp is roaming… hence why sb is mandatory… thief z-axis moblity is superior compared to any other class

On topic: I do not think S/x works good with CS and 30 Trickery seems pretty mandatory especially with swords.

AA will beyour main damage anyway and since you will go into melee range poison on steal and weakness on poison in DA will drastically reduce the damage you take which will give youmore uptime for AA and a decent way to get healing reduction via poison.

You will probably need the extra healing and extra damage on mug, Steal daze cnd TS daze switch weapon PW will be your “nuke”, while you evande and AA the rest of the time.
S/P interupts to “peel” enemies off your teammates…

Thanks for the builds guys, it’s really a breath of fresh air from the usual meta. I’ll be sure to try them out. Someone said something about the SB? I understand it’s niche but you also mentioned for tPvP, this is a theory sPvP build so we can go somewhat casual here.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Trickery should actually take priority first. If anything, mainly for the 15 initiative. However should we try to go full 30 for sleight of hand? I personally think we may be able to ditch it. But I’m sure you guys would suggest Bountiful theft at the very least?

Idk guys I think its best to keep thing to yourself, most things good that become to popular get nerfed .
