Hi,

I have recently hit level 80 using a condition 0/0/20/20/30 build and want to start the grind for exotic armor etc. I have enjoyed the condition dagger dagger build but want to know is it viable to stay as a condition build thief at level 80? Will I be of use in dungeons? Will parties let me in? Is it worth me buying exotic condition armor or should I be using a more burst like build and spend my gold on that? Any tips would be great.

Condition builds for the thief are typically one of the more desirable builds.
High survivability and your damage doesn’t require you maintaining the risky uptime of melee ranged proximity to the enemies (who can easily 2-3 shot you if you’re not paying attention).

Citadel of Flame has a good “Carrion” Condition-damage centered set of Exotic armor/weapons if you’re looking to stack Condi/Power/Vitality.
Ascalonian Catacombs / Honor of the Waves (I believe) have a “Rabid” Condition-damage centered set, as well if you want toughness and precision.

As far as I know, condition damage is good for dungeons. If you want to farm events in Orr, you’ll be better off with direct damage.

Condition damage is lower than direct by a fair bit, but as long as people see you working to help and not getting downed, they’ll be happy; ie. it’s not nearly as risky as running full berserk melee. Everyone is impressed by a constantly melee’ing thief, but they’re even more disgusted with melee that has to be revived every 10s.

And there are LOT that need constant revives (which is why it’s impressive to find one that melees and never needs it).
