Guild Wars 2

Faced a S/D theif in WvW yesterday. Easily the most annoying SOB I have ever faced. He was picking us off one at a time testing who was weaker and then focusing. He took 3 people down of a 6 person group. He never killed us but he downed us till we evnetually left cause we realized what he was actually doing was delaying us while friends took a camp. It was bloody brilliant. I want to know his build. I did a theory craft and thing this might be what it was.

I am sure many of you will say this play style is worthless but it was so much fun trying to get this guy and I can’t imagine how hard he was laughing at us running around with out head chopped off.

Please help. ^^ It was high mobility and stealth with what seemed like low crit.

this is my more defensive build, and it works wonders against d/d and s/d. its a dp build. lay down your blinding powder, and take the initiative against them in getting an opening back stab by hopping through the smoke with heart seeker a few times. if they get into the field to ruin your stealthing build up, utilizing dodges and or shadowstep + shadowshot, to be more defensive, or flat out face tanking the bad ones in the powder it self has seemed to work well for me against them.

Your build looks nice but it is definitely not what this Thief was running. She was for sure S/D. I am not looking for a build to beat it I am looking for a build that yall think might have been hers so I can make it for my own Thief. I do not play thief really just happen to have one leveled and wana annoy people to death in WvW.

I always counter S/D thieves with their one weakness, shortbows. S/D will try to do their fancy moves and get close to you to immobilize you. SB #3 will help you get more distance away from them.

Also I am mainly a D/P thief but a tank/burst hybrid. I will usually milk a s/d thief with my s/b and force them to switch weapon sets. When they do, and by now they should have taken a few hits from the sb spamming, I switch to my d/p and burst them down.

This usually forces them to be more in the defensive and you just have to make sure that you keep an internal clock in your mind that they will eventually switch back. If their hp is more than half, I usually switch back to my sb and rinse and repeat the same tactic.

The goal is to make your opponent not use their main weapons and get them uncomfortable in fighting you. Also shadow step utility is your friend in this kinds of fights.

Again, not looking for how to beat them. I am looking for the build that yall think was probably used. I don’t care about how to beat them I want to make one cause it looks fun.
