I have stacks of tomes, spare char slots and most types of ascended weapons and was bored yesterday so thought kitten it, I’ll make a thief. I can always delete it if I don’t like it and have lost nothing but a few tomes.
I made a thief, maxed it and took some build advice from guildies. Kitted it out in ascended and exotic stuff, grabbed two pistols and two daggers from storage then jumped into a CM path with guildies saying, ‘bear with me as I’ve never run a thief before.’
All I can say is, wow they are fast! I was jumping into fights, destroying foes then jumping out before I was touched. I was blasting away with both pistols, dodging, stealthing then shredding foes with my daggers. It wasn’t all good as a few times I was a lil slow with a skill or hit the wrong one (noob thief remember) and then I was melted in seconds but a lil more practice will take care of that. After the dungeon I ported to a friend in Orr then spent a while solo shredding foes.
Played since head start, quickly went through ranger and mesmer and spent the last 21/2 years with a power necro. Think I may just have stumbled into my new main.
