When i recently had some fun in the jumping puzzle in World vs World modus i came across this bug, if it is one. If not, it’s still a serious balance issue.

I was running a somewhat tanky build with as much stealth as possible and there were 2 warriors and 1 staff elementalist here, so i tried 1vs3ing them. Things were going smooth and they somehow never attacked me, swinging their swords into some direction even when i was long out of stealth, but that’s not the problem.

The problem is, when using a stealth skill like smoke field or shadow refugee, they were able to spot me. The warriors sometimes were able to hit me while i was invisible and even the elementalist was able to attack me, only because they saw my skills and knew where i was.

I think those skills (stealth skills) should not be visible to non-thieves or in general. I am a thief, an assassin and you don’t see assassins using something, you are only supposed to see them the moment you die. That’s how it works and it should really get looked at from Anet.

We are already squishy enough and we have no overpowered pets like Ranger or Turrets like Engineer or something like that, so i think this buff or rather fix would be justified.

they are way too easy to kill.. im a guardian.. i mean i know what i talk about.. two hits and they are down.. i mean they dont have turrets at all.. or honor..
i mean.. honor and digniy really should get added in the next patch for thieves.. srsly… a net should have a look on this…
and well… standard implemented boobs would maybe do their job too..

HAHA! It was barely credible through the whole paragraph, I fell of my chair laughing at the end. Good one, 8/10!

PS: You’d want to go back to Assassin’s Creed if you’re looking to assassinate helpless people. This game is multiplayer, the people you drool at when attempting to “assassinate” with your stale fashion are players, with classes, maybe different from yours, and for the sake of balance there must at least be a slight bit of defense.

Note: GW1 had a class called: Assassin…. Thief is the closest GW2 has to GW1’s assassin, but notice it is quite specifically NOT called an assassin… food for thought…

I agree with op, I just sit back and let my rifle turret kill anything that looks at me funny, its almost not fair :/

throw in an flame turret and you can wipe out an entire zerg

Thief stealth doesn’t need changing; you should have a lot of mobility no matter what as a thief. The fact that people can attack you when you use stealth is good for them, and a bad part on you. Use your stealths better.

Thief is far from needing a buff. Anything you really buff will directly make them more powerful, which they already are.

I have about 500 hours on thief and have not recognized any difficulties jumping in and out of stealth, and staying stealthed.
