As the title says, malicious restoration is so underpowered compared to channeled vigor it almost puts the entire deadeye elite spec into question. Heres the math. With the malificent 7 trait you gain 7 malice containers. Malicious restoration does a base heal of 4560 + 808 per malice point. Added together you get 10,216 heal at max malice and its on a 30 second recharge and no trait to lower that.

Channeled vigor on the other hand has a 20 second CD that can BE LOWERED EVEN FURTHER by brawlers tenacity trait. It does 3 pulses of 5,520 healing per pulse which adds to 16,560 healing. This can be EVEN FURTHER ENHANCED by having full enduranceehich heals to a whopping 21,960

As it currently stands, channeled vigor does twice the heal on half the CD and can refill your endurance.

This needs to change if you want us to play deadeye

No. The answer to this isnt to nerf a perfectly good skill but to instead bring this new one up to snuff. As it currently stands this isnt any better than the core game heals. Worse potentially.

it isn’t 5,520 per pulse lol, it is 5,520 total for the 3 pulses and 7,320 if endurance is full.

DE heal is fine, stacking malice is really easy so you will always get the full heal and also it removes conditions.

I would lower the cd to 25s but it’s a good heal skill either way.

And I agree, it’s better balance traits by strengthening them than nerfing them. When traits/abilities/weapons/etc. get nerfed into the ground it limits playstyles.

There are times when an ability/trait/etc. may need a nerf, but IMO, it should always be light. Because too much nerf and like I said, it’s worthless. A light nerf to any ability/trait/etc. I think would be better for balance testing.

This. CV isn’t a 15k+ heal lol. Thief baseline has only just under 11k hp. No class has a heal for more than its max health. It just procs extra health if on any of the pulses you reach full endurance.

A 10k burst heal is absolutely bonkers to be honest – that’s better than To the Limit and shares the same cooldown, especially given how much of an advantage the Deadeye starts a fight with given its range and stealth.

CV is still questionably overpowered considering what it provides for how much it heals. All the HoT elites still need to be toned down towards core.

The HoT elites still do need downwards tweaking. They were supposed to provide no additional power over anything core. They were marketed and sold on that premise.

Doesn’t mean I’m not interested in the profession as a whole or that I don’t know enough about it to answer questions and make clarifications for those who want to play it.

The thief is one of the most interesting professions, and I do like to talk builds and make optimizations.

You can ask my guildmembers, if you’re really so inclined. They’ll tell you that I mained reaper for most of the time after HoT, and that after initial testing of the last patch, I’ve not played the profession and have no interest in going back if it remains like this.

I mean if you so want me to leave the forums, you can fill out a form and submit it to my inbox for further review and one of our staff will review it.

You forgot the 7 conditions cleansed using Malicous if there 7 malice stacks. One condition per stack. Now the deal is the 30 seconds, not the heal or power of the skill itself. Cantrips have no traits for lowering cooldowns and any heal on a 30 second cooldown tends not to be used.

Thief just takes too much damage in a single shot and they generally can not wait 30 seconds for a heal. Now it certainly possible the various traits and ksills in DE that mitigate damage taken (iron sights, protection, stealth) might help in this regard but I find that unlikely. I think 25 seconds is more reasonable an ICD.

I’ll dont run Malicious Restoration, Withdraw will be my heal for PvP and Signet of Malice for PvE. It isn’t that Malicious Restoration can’t be good but a istant extra dodge + “free” sigil of escape it’s very good, counting that my target will usually die before Perfectionist’s proc.

What the… Do people on the Thief forum actually play Thief, or even Guild Wars 2 for that matter? No. Channeled vigor does not heal you for twenty-one thousand health. While it is the highest potential heal Thief has, the whole point of the class is to avoid damage, not soak it up.

people that voice their opinions on forums are mostly not the smartest bunch tbh the amount of kitten i’ve read about people predicting what the specs will be doing/will be viable at is just shakes head
