Mesmers easy cake now :D
or just use a shortbow. thats pretty much wat i do shatter thier illusions and hits them aswell. auto attack constantly. may throw down a cluster bomb or 2. lol. thier not that hard unless ur facing a PRO mesmer.
haha yea mesmers got a serious nerf. Blinding prevents phantams from being summoned… that makes since phantams are an attack… oh wait… nvm

They need to be nerfed harder. Pro mesmers can still kill you in 3~4 seconds without you having time to find the real one.
Just use CnD off an illusion and take the time to find the real mesmer. Usually isn’t very hard. Then BS him and cripple and pwn.
The only thing that gets me killed vs. a mesmer is their kitten moa transform.
Can’t do anything except evade twice and run away…
well did they give a buff to moa when u transform u get a run away skill in it its pretty fast xD lol and funny

Yeah, this is the best way to defeat a Mesmer. Of course, if the Mesmer knows what he’s doing you’re going to eat a 8kShatter + 3k Blurred Frenzy…kinda hard to come back from that.
Just to point something out:
Pistol Range: 900
Greatsword Staff Range: 1200
I’m sure mesmers can figure out a few methods against Blinding Powder. Just give them a bit to adapt.
Well, hope they adapt, otherwise prepare for more nerfs.
Pistol mesmers are usually running with it traited to 1200 too.
And yeah, pro Shatter Cat mesmers are still strong, the nerf didn’t hurt much. It’s all the other memser builds that actually rely on illusions for doing something other than being shatter bombs that got nerfed.
i see you rarely run into tanky mesmers what if i told you, that blind makes only 1st attack miss?

I would say you haven’t run across a pistol pistol thief. You can apply an awful lot of blinds in this setup.

Then you’d be lying. After looking in the Mesmer forums blind kills off 1/2 of the Mesmer skills.
i fought a strong sword wielding mesmer the other day and he can hit me hard. I need help on countering him please. I’m using a shortbow + P/D semi glass build with shadowstep, shadow refuge, and either SoS/Devourer Venom/Spider Venom.
Hope i can get some help.
Thanks!

No, see, the strength of P/P is that you use Black Powder, and then get blind combo fields from pistol’s auto-attack to just keep re-applying it to a single target. It re-applies blind if you just stand in it, which is what most Sword/Pistol users are used to, but it gets some extra perks from using a pistol instead.
Still, I’m not really worried about it. Black Powder is borderline overpowered in PVE because your enemies are too stupid to do anything but run directly at you. A smart PVP player will figure out a few ways to punish you for using such an obvious tactic though, and because Black Powder is so expensive you probably won’t be in much of a position to fight back.
If this becomes a flavor of the month tactic I’d be… Surprised and disappointed. Backstab is overpowered indeed.

When facing a Pro Mesmer you don’t have the time cause they’ll summon their illusions less than a second before they blink to you where they shatter them and use staff 2 to get a safety distance away from you to give you the conditions that’ll drain the few HP you have left if you made a class cannon thief.
A fight with a Pro Mesmer is like a fight with a very good thief: Over in a few seconds if caught unprepared.

After playing a lot against those pesky veteran rogues in WvW, I just use Scorpion Wire as soon as I see a black powder fall and start my combo.
If I was a mesmer using focus as off hand, I’d use the swiftness/cripple/vortex thing skill right when I see a black powder fall, hit him once (to clear the blindness) and start with whatever he wanted to do any way.

I find that most mesmers are easy now, however once in a while I run into a masmer who’s shatter deals a good 8-10k dmg to me while I wear full exotics with power/tough/vit stats. Its not often and I assume they’re so fragile if I ever sneezed on them they’d die though.

After looking in the Mesmer forums, I see a lot of players that never had to deal with blind before crying their eyes out. Since they’re just now learning how the game REALLY works, what with LoS, Dodge, Block, Miss, Out of Range and Blind actually factoring in to skill usage, mesmer players are going to have to adapt and get back on their feet.
Don’t worry, they’ll get used to it eventually.
the shattercat and other shatter builds are popular now after anet broke most the phantasms.

8-10k per shattered illusion or total damage? Per illusion it is impossible as i am full exotic berserker with orbs with best food and full bloodlust, and my shatter does 3k per illusion if crited.
If tottal shatter then 10 K is achievable, but you need 3 summoned clones first and all the setup takes longer than any thief burst combo or warrior combo :P

It is actualy not that bad with blind, as GS mesmer user i mainly use GS to deal dmg and it hits hard and rapidly. Lately the thieves are not that dangerous as there are plainly too many of them and they lowered massively in quality:D Hard to find the decent one. Funny to see the heartseaker spammers back in action:D

dodge to clone and click mirror images, self shatter trait and have potentially 4 × 3k crits with confusion, but yeah far more can go wrong than a 10k backstab

Just because you can’t handle a Mesmer doesn’t mean we need to be nerfed.

Are you being funny…or just don’t want your precious mesmer nerfed? I cannot tell.
If you want balance…and are willing to cry and complain about other classes…you must accept the unbalanced factors of your own class. You’re not going to achieve balance by giving false feedback, simply because you want to keep playing an OP class/build.
I play a mesmer myself, and I am telling you they need to be nerfed. Mesmers are the most ridiculous class aside from D/D Ele.
The top 4 pretty much goes Ele-Mes-Guard-War. All 4 of these need to be toned down in different aspects. If you cannot accept that fact, then your opinions are nothing but biased rubbish.
Oh, and before you judge…I do play 3 of those 4. The 4th that I don’t play, I know everything from what I’ve been told, and experienced first hand on a friend’s account.
