Hello,

I am currently trying to decide which armor type to go for.

I am currently running D/D and SB and my traits are 10/30/30, and my main focus is PvE (although I do some WvW here and there).

I was having a discussion with a friend over what armor stats I should go for. I am debating between using Beserker or Knight. Both offer me a fair bit of power and crit, however the latter will provide me this bonus (at a diminished amount) and more armor.

The compromise was to have Beserker on all of my armor, then Knight of my weapons and accessories (back, rings, amulets), but I’m very concerned that I will be “screwing myself” with the mix-match in stats.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

For a Thief Valkyrie armor is usually considered superior due to low base health. The loss of precision matters less on a backstab build due to Hidden Killer.

If you’re going solo I would recommend Valkyrie and Soldier combo with Hidden Killer.

If you’re running with a decent group, you can go crazy and go full ’serker and Executioner.

IMO, precision is a crap stat.

why is precision a crap stat? or are you just referring to backstab builds?

for my backstab build (d/d & d/p) i’m running zerker helm, coat, and pants. Then soilder shoulders, gloves, and boots. Valkyrie weapons and trinkets. Trinkets have ruby jewels in them. Armor have sup runes of divinity. Sitting at 100% crit damage with 40% crit but using hidden killer. Lots of stealth, and lots of crits. That being said, the Valk + Soldier combo is good too, more power less crit chance, but it’s a non issue when using hidden killer.

Precision only gives Crit Chance that you can get from other sources. So having it on your gear or rune is a total waste. It is more useless in backstab builds.

On a non-burst build, all you really need is at least 30% crit chance and you can easily achieve that by either taking a Sigil of percep, Food, or Fury buff.

Like I said in my reply, in a group setting, where you have access with all the nice buffs, you can go crazy and go all out with full ’serker with Executioner if you want.
