Moar Stun
Sword Stealth attacks can daze (aka. stun) a target for roughly 2 seconds and is quite an effective weapon when combined with Dagger off-hand.
I do see a point though in that the Thief class is rather light on CC compared to other classes, which is a bit of a shame since it would open up more options.
One word: stability.
If this happened, I’d use stability a lot more often and kitten on thief even easier because they’d severely lack any kind of survivability. Without stealth, they’re nothing.
counter stun :
runes of melandru- are good counter vs conditions and stuns
roll of initiative
withdraw
inf signet
stun on backstab would be overpowered, and will promote glas cannon builds, you cannot have all in 1:)
you also have basilik vennom
S/D … Daze every fricking 3 seconds … Believe me that the person you’re fighting against will be furious after playing with you (My co-leader hates me after 1 match spvp against me ^^ )

No senior methinks you are wrong..we have plenty of stuns/cc available and a backstab 1 second stun – are you crying out for a return to threads of tears?
We are very good at getting away and catching up (with the exception of dagger ele’s whom I can just about get away from but find catching up can be hard). In addition to those mentioned above we have Trick shot when shot from stealth is surprise shot a root – that means we have two abilities – Basilisk and surprise shot that can stop someone in their tracks and at range and you don’t even have slot anything for the surprise shot root as you can fire it from any stealth. no matter where you got it from. This doesn’t amount to the mass cc I recieve when mowned down by a zrg that flings me about like a rag doll (although sometimes i manage to shadowstep away which is great fun) but delicately placed its plenty.

x/P skill 4 : Spammable stun. If you ever need to interrupt a heal or stomp this is the skill to go. And no it doesnt last very long. Its a tactical skill.

Depends on the build. In spvp, the only time I use stealth from either steal or shadow refuge is if I’m out numbered in a fight or want to switch to SB and immobilize them. Not all thieves spam stealth, its just the most common build unfortunatly.
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”
I ran a S/D build last night ( 0/30/30/10/0 )
using some PTV gear and valk and PTV accessories ended up with around 3k attack 19k hp and 2.6k armor.
survivability and the ability to troll with daze is amazing
Nah.
Stuns are for a Mace/Mace setup, which is something we’ll need when they make a weapon update.
Mace main hand:
Headseeker – leap and strike your foe. The less health your target has, the longer the stun lasts.
100%-50%: 2 sec stun.
50%-25%: 3 sec stun.
25%-0%: 4 sec stun.
Combo Finisher: Leap
Range: 450
PS: since it does no damage, it would require ini cost reduction.
4 second stun might be a bit op though ..

so 3 seconds stun x 4 headseeker = 12 seconds stun lock your enemy?, or more with proper runes and sigils ?
how much initiative you want this skill to cost ? cause if is 3 initiative with proper traits you can stun lock an target for …. for ever
Well, at least they will stop complaining about heartseeker.
This is where the part about everyone having same gear statistics aka skill matters of this game comes in play. The author of this thread wants to be safe by stunning opponent most of the time because clearly he can’t catch the exact timing for daze or dodge the attack.
Next time if you (author) come up with great ideas and want comments from others, please write why you yourself desire something, in this case – why you need more stuns and less stealth ? Are you never being ganked ? Can’t successfully put some bleeding on running enemy ?
If so you can try:
1. Play thief more – practice can be useful.
2. Try analyze your opponents more or try to analyze them.
3. Change a profession to another more stun capable (if you desire stuns maybe this profession doesn’t “fit” you).
I don’t miss a stun, but I surely miss a push/launch. Maybe an expansion could bring us an explosive trap which launches away any foes in the blast… -falls from bed and wakes up-
