Anet claims they want the thief to be more mobile than those speedy d/d elementalists.

Well, a lot of people already know sword #2 infiltrator’s strike is basically the best mobility for the thief in the game right now, and one of the best escapes as well.

Why not change the shadowstep utility to function like infiltrator’s strike from the sword? What i mean is right now infiltrator’s strike has 14 seconds for you to do your thing, so you can run around, fight, retreat, move forward, etc.

Shadowstep utility only has a 6 second period before you cannot shadow return. And it has a 50 second cooldown…

Why not make the utility have a shorter cooldown + longer time in between activation and being able to use shadow return? That is more mobility right there.

If anet is going to nerf stealth…and wants to up mobility…that’s an idea

The problem with this would be the secondary effect of Shadowstep, which is, on shadow return, cure 3 conditions. That part alone is why the skill is on such a huge cool down to begin with.

There are multiple things that can be done to give Thieves more mobility, but I believe Anet wants to link them directly to our weapons, as we have a lot of mobility via shadow steps from utility skills already (infultrator’s signet, shadowstep, shadow trap, and steal).

Being a mobility skill, that condition removal has always seemed weird as hell anyway. It might be better to move that condition removal onto another skill, and do as the OP suggested and reduce the recharge and increase the return timer.
You always have to choose between using the skill to move around like you’re supposed to, or save it to remove some conditions. Those two things don’t seem to me to have much in common.

We have plenty of utility-related mobility, I’m fine with that. What I want is more weapon mobility, and that’s supposedly what we’re getting. At least, I hope.

They say that, but what they mean is they’re going to blanket nerf stealth because of QQers and then 1 yr from now they’ll add some buggy mobility to pistol pistol or something lol.
