So after three years I finally decided to create one and I wanted to ask the thief community what one I should create. Iv been playing a lot of thief and changed my main from ranger recently , so I am still somewhat new. My question is which legendary would be most convenient to have as a thief? I assume the top three would be quip, bolt, and incinerator. What I mean by convenient is what one would save me the most money and time seeing that I wouldn’t have to buy another or multiple of that weapon type.

It depends on what you like.
I’m in the process of making Nevermore, simply because i love the staff.

Or you can wait a few months for new legendaries to be announced.

I’d say Incinerator would see the most Screen time, most of our main weapon sets use a dagger in at least one hand.

Bolt is my personal favourite though, just love how it looks

If you have HoT for daredevil then I suggest either Bifrost or Nevermore. Bifrost’s rainbow trail looks great with the melee animations and it’s one of the few staves that’s not overly lopsided. Also a lot of other classes can use staves as well in case you have a lot of alts.
Of the traditional thief weapons, Incinerator is by far my favorite. This is partly due to the fact that it’s just awesome on it’s own, being a tiny jet of flame! The other reason is because there aren’t a lot of other really great dagger skins, whereas pistol has some pretty cool ones, and sword is just overflowing with them.

If you are considering doing Quip make sure you can tolerate the noise of clownish shoots for your entire gameplay (I certainly couldn’t).

I depends on what you like to play, on which gametype you play the most, and on which Legendary you prefer.

If I were to give a Legendary to my thief, I would probably go with the Dreamer. It just got a cool stow animation added to it, and in my opinion this is an overall fun and original weapon. Plus, no matter what you play in PvP/WvW/open world, you can be sure you’ll always have a short bow.

If you’re more into conventional stuff, you can never go wrong with Incinerator. It’s shiny, has discrete yet good-looking footprints, and can be used in any game mode (you can even wield two Incinerators in dungeons/fractals, how cool?).

A short bow legendary wouldn’t be bad, I’d wait to see what the gen 2 bow would be tho

I been waiting 12 years to see the new Sword.
Been waiting 20 years for Sword buffs though.
