My thief in higher lvl fractals.
My advice is to adjust your build. If you need condi cleanse, then put 2 into SA for the condi cleanse on stealth. If you need to be able to dodge more, put 3 into acrobatics for the extra endurance on evade. Yes you lose out on dps, but you’re also alive. An alive person deals more dps than a dead one.

Valk gear instead of zerk. Run food that heals on crit.

D/d and p/p are both single target weapon sets. A lot of fights in fractals are trash fights.
Use sword/pistol and shortbow for fights like in cliffside and use d/d only when single target damage is needed.
You can blind trash with the pistol to negate the damage completely and you can inflict weakness with the shortbow which helps a lot. P/p is a bad weapon set you should not use it in pve.
For the grawl fight you should use smoke screen and/or hide behind a wall or shield of avenger from your guard. Also daggerstorm helps a lot when you have trouble with the adds or nobody uses reflections during the shield phase.
Most attacks one or 2 hit you on higher levels but thats for like every profession except warrior the same on higher levels.
As a thief you really need to dodge things like the arrows from the imbued shaman or basically all archdiviner attacks.
You can also use the heal “Withdraw” for tougher fights. It is an extra dodgeroll on a 15sec cooldown.

Thanks for the response. Why is p/p so bad? Its good burst dmg for when I need to be ranged. With ricochet it is good aoe DPS. I know it isn’t much on utility but as a thief I always kind of think all I’m bring is stealth and raw DPS.
Clusterbomb does the same damage as unload in a quicker timeframe. You have an extra dodge with the bow. The bow can put aoe weakness down.
The bomb is a blast finisher, so you can stack 25 might if you have an ele with you, which means everyone does more than 25% more damage, can heal on waterfields, etc etc

Ok. I did not know all of these things. Thank you for thieving 101
If you’re coming into fractals as a single target pure dps you’re probably getting carried by other classes (past lvl 30). Get blind on the trash. Swap your weapon sets round to get the best skills for each fight.
For the fire shaman you need two things: firstly dodge his bow attack with the fire field, secondly find a tactic when the shaman goes into the healing bubble. There’s a few slightly different ways to deal with the bubble but daggerstorm seems like the best starting point. Don’t stand under the shaman when the bubble bursts. Remember you can shoot cluster bombs in all directions while running.
