My thief is a giant wuss (pve).
Take Signet of Malice, drop P/P for shortbow, and keep working on getting better gear. You should be taking very little damage, even in Orr, simply by staying mobile and dodging. LDB is great if you’re pushing the condition damage, but outside of that dagger is not a great PvE mainhand. If you find yourself using dagger #1/#2 often, you’d be better off with a sword by far. 10 points into Shadow Arts is a huge waste for 20 % cooldown reduction on Shadow Refuge, put them into Acrobatics and enjoy the offensive and defensive boosts it offers.
It will get a lot better with gear.

The reason I haven’t been using a short bow… is because it has always taken much longer to kill something with one, whereas at least with a pistol I can bleed something down. I never understood the love for short bows, but then I never understood the love for elementalists, either.
My current gear is crafted level 80 greens. All rampager. My jewelry is level 80 greens, made of coral.
The thing about shortbows is that they aren’t particularly effective vs. 1 target, but gain massive effectiveness at 2 targets, and a bit more at 3-5. Shortbow also gives you far more movement and utility as well as benefits far more from Signet of Malice than pistols.
From what it looks like, you dont really use C&D and your gameplay isnt dependent on it. I say move your Shadow Arts stuff into Acrobatics. Also, “Damage +%” doesnt work on condition damage so I vote on moving 5 points from either Deadly Arts or Trickery (my vote goes to removing them from deadly arts) and getting feline grace so you can dodge more and maybe even getting another 5 points so you can get the heal on initiative use thing.
Ofc I have never used a condition build based on d&d. I typically only move my extra dagger to the main hand on my weapon switch so I can use C&D → Steal → Caltrops → Death Blossom once or twice followed by a c&d to hide again o.o
I find using deathblossom, even as a defense, quite weak unless I need the aoe but caltrops usually takes care of my aoe needs.
That build seems a bit too greedy to me. You didn’t just went condition build, you went all-out condition build. If you’re trying to reach a destination by going past mobs, it’s going to hurt a lot. Especially in malchor and cursed, the amount of mobs there are no joke. frankly, get some defensive traits and better gear or kill mobs on your way so you’re not overwhelmed.
Well, I don’t understand it. I’ve tried all the advice here. I still can’t take a hit. The Risen are like steroid-injected PCP crackheads that run around at blazing speeds, punching holes through brick walls. And I am not made of brick, I’m made of Thief.
What gear are you wearing and did you change your spec at all?
Orr mobs are tougher than mobs in prev areas, and perhaps more importantly, are everywhere. Their fast respawns, dense distribution, many debilitating/disabling moves makes escaping tough. You’ll def want condition removal for Risen, and consider getting some vit and toughness on ur gear (can mostly ignore healing gear, as the stat scales terribly). Prob the most rapid condition removal avail for a build w/ cloak and dagger is from the shadow arts tier 1 trait that removes one on stealth and 3 sec later if still in stealth, but shadowstep and precision signet are good utilities for removing conditions too.
Consider trying alternative weapons as well. For melee S/P is good for cleaving multiple mobs, has easy and constant condition removal w/ infil strike, an interrupt, and a blind combo field you can stand in so enemies can’t hit you outside aoe. For ur ranged option, shortbow or p/d may be better than p/p cause the former can inflict aoe weakness easily (poison then cluster bomb fields), has an evade, short range teleport/escape in blinding arrow, and nice aoe damage which helps you greatly in tagging mobs in crowded events. P/D is great for kiting packs of melee mobs w/ dancing dagger, still has easy access to stealth w/ cloak and dagger, and works well w/ condition damage. D/P may seem odd an melee choice, but its blinds and ability to access stealth on demand w/o being in melee (blinding powder + HS = stealth) make it a great dueling spec w/ good gap closing that in a pinch can get away w/o needing to use utilities or having a mob in melee reach. In aoe, you can have on the signet of malice and get some decent healing returns from aoe moves like dagger storm, the calatrops on dodge trait in trickery, death blossom spam, and basic sword attack cleaves. If it gets too heated, stealth and try to run.
Ur not going to be a well-oiled killing machine like a GS warr, or a durable guardian; you can’t soak stuff in melee and just heal it back up- you have to dodge, blind, kite and/or stealth ur way around Orr.

Personally I would recommend a build a little more like this. Now a big thing I noticed from your previous post is that you said you’re wearing mastercraft (green) gear, get rares you can get a 6 peice set of rare gear for a gold or less and you’ll notice a difference.
