Hello. Thief is my first character where I hit level 80 with and bought me full exotic gear. I have a serious problem in PvP (mists). I googled for proper thief build. I tried both p/d and d/p and d/d. It doesn’t matter what weapons and build I go, I can’t kill no one 1v1 in the mists and I am pretty much useless. Does anyone have some advice or really good working build that I can do proper damage?

also, if I change my PvE gear, will it also have an influence on the stats in PvP? though I tried full PvE condi gear with p/d and still felt pretty useless.

first of all pve gear/traits will not effect pvp at all. when you are in the mists at the top of your screen there should be a PvP Build button, that is where you pick your pvp traits, weapons and amulet, and runes, armor means nothing in pvp.

secondly, thief is not easy to play, it takes practice and timing. no matter which build you use. d/p 26006 and s/d 20066 are mainly the meta for thief at the moment. they’re different variations of each build but thats the basics. dont expect to hop into pvp and be able to 1v1 and win instantly, itll take time, pvp is a whole lot different than pve

Your job isn’t to kill 1v1 but to force uneven fights an cap empty points. I no there lost of talk thief so op so much damage bla bla all that nonsense. Though its fact at higher level of play thief cannot decap a point\or kill solo from majority of the meta builds and as I said early not your job to do so.
