Need Advice on Thief Builds
Ferg Crossing
First of all, I’m not saying this is the best spec in anyway or how you should play. This is how I play and what I find fun. Maybe you can glean some ideas from this.
I used to play glass cannon (25/30/0/0/15). I then moved to a 25/30/0/15/0. I liked the vitality and extra dodge for stacking strength.
Now I am 0/30/25/15/0. For the most part, I have just enough survivability to take one big direct hit and dodge out if I’m not paying attention.
I run full Beserker (Pow/Pre/Crit) Dagger/Pistol+Short Bow. Also, I carry other armor/jewelery/weapons to allow versatility in situations. My Sigils are Fire/Force and my Runes are Divinity.
I choose the Signet of Agility over the other signets. Mainly because it refills my endurance and removes a condition. Having the ability to dodge 6 times in a row is nice.
Both Shadow Refuge and Blinding Powder will stealth you and allies near you; which can help is sticky situations. Shadow Refuge also provides “Combo Field: Dark”; when using the Short Bow inside, I gain Life Steal. If my health is low and my heal is on cool down; I dodge out, drop Refuge and plink away with the Short Bow to gain health.
D/P is neat concept. Black Powder(Combo Field: Smoke) + Heartseeker(Combo Finisher: Leap) = Combo Stealth
Then I follow up with a Back Stab.
Between stealthing/dodging/other stuff, I keep up a healthy level of might. This helps make up for some of the lost DPS in the first trait row. I feel the added survivability means an overall DPS gain, because I’m not spending as much time down. Ultimate goal, of course, is to never be downed and never miss a dodge. But I’m not perfect, so this works for me.
