I’m level 78 at the moment and I don’t have a clue what I should be doing at level 80…

What kind of armor should I buy and what are things that level 80s do?

I was thinking about using a D/D + Shortbow Condition damage build, is that good ?

Also… I don’t really understand what traits I should be using, I’ve read a lot of guides on here and guildwarsguru but none of them are very specific, and people seem to just follow 1 or 2 builds and stick to that, at the moment I’m reading a lot of people are using D/P but I don’t want to use pistols.

I’ll offer you advise.

Buy blue gear for every slot at lvl 80 and copy those builds/weapon sets and try them out in lvl 70 or lower PVE stuff to see which you like the best, then look for math detailing why one set is the best for the playstyle you decide on, then copy that gear set and trait setup.

I have no idea what people do in PvE, but if you’re going to play PvP you’re mostly suited to a far point assaulter and roamer, while in WvW you’re most suited to roaming and killing solo players/small groups depending on your skill level, killing dolyaks and guard points, and capping supply camps.
