Lv.80 Scrapper (Alchemist Persenia)
Lv.80 Druid (Mender Zalintyre)
Hey my fellow Thief/Daredevil Girls and Boys,
I have recently become a Main of Daredevil/Thief, and Iam loving this class so MUCH!
Iam typically a mage in MMORPGs, staying away from pure melee classes. Thief being the only exception, and luckily for me, thieves in GW2 Lore, also make use of denial Magicks. So hey I still get some of my Mage-ness too! lol.
Anyway, Im here to stay. I’ve mained Mesmer for 3 years, along with tempest and Druid here and there. But being a sneaky thief, inspired from D&D, and Final Fantasy along with Assassins Creed and other various thief stealth games, I can’t help but become even more drawn to the Thief/Daredevil class in GW2.
P.S: D/P Daredevil is kittening AMAZING IN PVP! Ive been having a few winning streaks in the league matches. I love how I can disengage and re-engage over and over, just like a real assassin or thief. Love this!!!
Welcome to the thief class. I have played every profession to 80 and always come back to the thief for the bulk of my gameplay. I tend to play WvW and as far as “winning” matches it oftimes easier done on those other classes but the gameplay on the thief just more my style.
Hvae fun. Do not be overly reluctant to experiment with different builds.
I’m really thinking about switching from warrior to thief as well.
Daredevil looks really fun and kitten, and daredevil tanking sounds really fun and unique.
Edit: I typed “unique” and the filter kitten’d it.

Nice! I’m a new player that made thief my first class to 80 as well. I’m still exploring the world and unlocking masteries, and haven’t delved into PvP just yet. But running a build with daredevil and using d/p with p/p for range backup has been a blast while I’ve been exploring the jungle (which is just an amazing place, btw!). I hear d/p is pretty fun for PvP as well, so I’m sure I’ll try that out soon enough!
But all in all, great class so far!
Thief is great early on in unranked sPvP play. The shine will soon wear off as you face opponents that know how to fight a thief or run a build that can basically ignore one.
Welcome to the forums. We appreciate all your excitement you are sharing here over being new to thief class. It feeds out disillusionment. We need it to grow. We consume it like vampires and we will now begin devouring it until there is nothing left of you then bitterness and hatred which will you will express with posts about D/P being all we are good at and revenants being overpowered.
Welcome to the Dark Side. You belong to us now.
(Run. Run away while there is still hope.)

Yay! Thank you all for your kind words. You know If any MMORPG does the thief, rogue, or assassin archetype class right, regarding gameplay, and mechanics… It’s Guild Wars 2.
I’m already Sapphire division in PvP, and lv 25 in PvE. I cannot wait to get more time with this class. It’s so much fun.
It is sad to see thief not apart of the meta much, but that doesn’t stop me from playing it. It still is super effective if played correctly in PvP. PvE it’s perfect… But in PvP one must understand their opponent and the situations at hand in order to gain an upper hand. Dragon hunters are my biggest issue. But I can still find ways to kill them if I plan carefully.
