Guild Wars 2

Hi all you conniving, backstabbing, pocket picking thieves.

I’ve always been a fan of the rogue/assassin archetype in games, and still so in GW2. I made my thief about 3 or 4 days ago, and its level 11 now, so i dont know much in terms of general thievery, so i’ve come to the masters of the shadows, so i may learn.

Im currently running sword/pistol and shortbow, but i like the d/d skills so i may go with that later on.

For PvE, you are playing fine. Black powder shot (pistol 5) is super OP against mobs that will stand in it (except dredge and champion mobs). Sword mainhand will hit multiple targets, while dagger will do slightly more dps single target.

This won’t teach you how to play, though, and it can be a bit boring. Stick with what you know until level 20 or so. Thief is rather squishy at low levels. Then I’d suggest trying out every weapon set.

Try out everything . Experiment and see what sticks.

For PvE, Caltrops is good. Then sometime down the line, unlock Smokescreen.

Practicing dodging and get accustomed to the stealth mechanics.

Thank you so far, and i should add i plan to keep at least one of my setups with a sword, because of my FDS from the hall of monuments ^.^ its just too amazing NOT to use.
