New To Thief need help with builds and tips
i forgot to metion i want a build that can transfer form pvp, pve, and wvwvw
I’ve came up with this build let me know what you think.
S/D Acro Trickery is your starting point most likely.
But D/P blinds can be just like dodges in many cases.
I wouldn’t keep the mind set that you want to have a build that you can use between all game modes. Each game mode is played differently, as such your build should be different for each play style. That said, it’s up to you.
Norn Guardian – Aurora Lustyr (Lv 80)
Mia A Shadows Glow – Human Thief (Lv 80)

You can use this pretty effectively in every game mode. Its not hard to play IMO
If you’re looking for builds try metabattle.com – I’m sure you’ll find everything you need there.
For PvP, these are the viable builds:
You can also find usage guides on every build’s page Viable options for traits/sigils/skills/runes/etc are also listed.

Since the OP is in a position similar to mine, I’ll kidnap this topic a bit.
I’m also new to thief and I want to start doing PvP exclusively, last night I tested a d/p build but I found out that with my ping (~300ms) I can’t do most of the teleport combos like heartseeker → stealth for example, when I do that I end going somewhere and get lost completely.
So, can you guys suggest a more forgiving build, for example, I played d/d ele and shatter mesmer and it was fine, hopefully OP can enjoy such build too.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
what gear stats should i focus on for the D/P blind build?

Every single detail you could possibly need can be found on the build pages I’ve linked before.
I prefer S/D for pvp purpose if anything. It has high access to constant dodge and can global targets witheout getting hit. S/D likely is harder to play then D/P when it comes to maximum skill floor because yes you got dodge yet do you use them correctly? A player isnt just as predictible yet as a AI.
BM: I want to present you my lovely jingle bear mia
If pet had voices: Mommy, I did it! :3

Thief is in general very unforgiving, so having high ping might make it difficult. S/P or S/D may be the best bet due to the extra survivability.

Pretty much this. If this proves too unforgiving as well then I’m sorry to say find another class. The profession is designed from the ground up to not take any hits, so if that’s proving to be a problem due to ping, there’s not much you can do beyond trying more evasive, tankier builds.
