I’ve been thinking about these skills for a long time. For shield, my inspiration comes from Dark Souls. Enjoy.
sword3.) Parry (2 initiative)
Smack attacks out of the way to open your enemy up for a counterattack. Blocking a melee attack knocks down. Ranged attacks are reflected back. Becomes Coup de Gras near knocked down enemies.
Block: 3/4s
Reflect: 3/4s
Knockdown: 2s
sword3a.) Coup De Grace (1/2s) (2s CD) (4 initiative)
Deal heavy damage to grounded targets. (GS groundstab animation)
Damage: 495 (.85)
Critical Chance: 100%
pistol3.) Guard (3s) (4 initiative)
Block an oncoming attack. Automatically activate Punish when you block an attack or take direct damage.
Block: 3s
pistol3a.) Punish (reverse flanking strike animation/headshot animation)
Evade further assault and punish your target’s mistake.
Damage: 282 (.75)
Stun: 2s
Evade: 1s
dagger3.) Parry (2 initiative)

4.) Shield Uppercut (5 initiative)
Deliver a shield bash that becomes more forceful on stable targets. Breaks stability faster.

Damage increase vs. Stability: 25%
Total Stability Removed: 2 per hit
5.) Bulwark (5 initiative) (1 initiative upkeep)
Hold to guard against frontal attacks, reducing their damage greatly. Initiative regen stops.
Damage reduction: 80%
Initiative drain per second: 1

Maybe 5 years later if GW2 still exists and they put some “Shadow Knight” in spec in the game.
I really dig the init upkeep idea. All it needs is some fun shadowstep skill somewhere, hopefully using the bad kitten new ss skill animations for rev’s shiro.
Sorry but these skills are not thief-ish and dmg reduction is spammable? OP
As a thief a sheild in no shape or form seems apealing unless I can go all Captain America on someone’s @$$ and start trowing it. Right now the biggest thing a thief is lacking is long range quick combat. For some reason I think Anet might be sued if we start throwing shields. Though a long range interrupt of a shield to the wind pipe would be awesome. Enemy is stunned/dazed for 3 mins while gasping for air, 5 mins if they are a Mesmer.
