New meta glimpse! Sizer The Innovator
lel new meta because oen starts palying it?
i ve been playing that build since hot release, with 1 trait different and 1 utilty,
meta is a lie, sizer is simply a good palyer, guys who will copy him will fail hard
Can’t see any point in going that lotus dodger as a power thief (rest of the traits seem to aim that it is power) and I dunno if I would want to drop bandit’s defence for that signet. Looks pretty standard to me…Not really tried out weakening strikes on s/d.

The only thing I can see the Lotus Strike providing Condi “pressure” to cover S/Ds lack of damage, but with the amount of cleanses idk if it would be a good choice.
the meta will always be basilik steal backstab 1111111111111111111 and run away repeat
Hmm, I’d be skeptical to just accept this as a new meta, even if it is a viable build just because Sizer is a very skilled player at S/D, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that S/D is a better fit to the meta than D/P. However, it is a good highlight of how sometimes it’s better to play a build that fits your playstyle strengths can be a better decision than just trying to force yourself into a current meta build.
I will say it’s nice to see Sizer streaming, especially since Sind hasn’t been doing so as much recently.
Also, lol @ him constantly beating that guy who always streams with the title ‘BEST THIEF EU’ in duels.
I’ve watched him stream these days, I’m a noob thief and learned a lot from it. I’ve tried running what he does, and found it fun and not too complicated to play. His streams are recorded in his twitch history for now for those who want to check it.
As far as I understand it, he uses Lotus mainly for the cripple, to reduce the mobility of his opponents – although the damage isn’t that bad too.
It looks pretty close to what most s/d users are going to end up with anyway changing one or two traits and maybe rune sets depending on where they’re at. Stats only go so far in spvp and he’s got the mobility on shortbow, might as well take some utility and try to weaken them down to thief size a little. I’d rather have Bandits but I get the pressure angle and that signet probably lets him land CnD more often.

Keep in mind too that what is best for a duel is not necessarily what is best for an actual PvP game. This is why Dash is in the current meta, even though Bound is typically better for duels as D/P.
Wow, this build is actually brilliant.
Infiltrator Strike (or Steal) →Lotus dodge is a good combo to waste anti-CC or cleanse while keeping your target withing striking range.
The combination of Lotus Poison (trait) and Weakening Strikes (trait) will consistently keep the target weakened, hindering endurance regen.
Infiltrator’s Signet and Shadowstep are not just stun breaks but also skills that can put a target within range of Lotus dodge for continuous pressure in a team fight.
The constant application of conditions ensures that each sword hit gets the 10% damage boost from Exposed Weakness.
The overall damage output is on a low side without CS, however, looking at it in a team fight, this build only gets better with boon stacks.
Bottom line, S/D still sucks. You can use this build with S/P and it would still work and probably more effective in a team fight.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
I have been dueling S/D lately and aside from it jumping around, it hits like a wet noodle. Any class that can apply consistent condi is a problem for it: apply, watch them burn init to douse it, apply again and watch them die or go one more round if they have everything up.
A good or great player can make it work but just.

This is a terrible build, even his own stream proves that. He couldn’t kill any other class than thief in a reasonable time(he could kill a kill a druid in over 4 mins but that would have lost him the game in a conquest match because he had to kite and los constantly), and couldn’t bring drazeh’s warrior below 80%. Sizer really does play s/d like a god but s/d’s terrible damage can’t be made up by skill, except when playing against newbies like he does in his unranked matches. We already knew that condi dodge was the best 1v1 trait because of guaranteed hits and easy sigil procs although it is very selfish. In a team fight however he doesn’t do concentrated damage with it(and even waste sigil procs on pets and such) nor get a useful 10% dmg or reduction boost. He can’t go for super quick decaps with dash either. Edit: and Imapling Lotus also causes accidental self-reveals.

Watching Sizer play S/D in unranked is like watching a cat hunting mice… with really dull claws.

I think it is more like the mouse hunting a cat.
