New stability change = Dagger Storm useless?
Hopefully it gives 25 stacks of Stability.
And they can upgrade stability to work against fear.? Since it kills my poor elite already. c.c
Now that the new stability change is going to be a use once sort of deal and then you’re going to get pounded to what ever comes your way.
Does this mean that dagger storm is useless now? What’s the point of a channeled elite that can be easily interrupted now? I mean there were ways to interrupt it before. But now it’s a two hit crowd control and it’s over.
Is basilisk venom becoming the only option now?
You’re jumping the gun here. A change like the stability update will be followed/accompanied by updates to skills that grant stability. Until we know how stability will change for Dagger Storm, we shouldn’t assume.

You say upgrade, i say Un nerf
Nobody knows how many stacks skills will grant, or if more skills and abilties will grant stability.
For all we know, every utility in the game could be changed to grant at least one stack of stability, or all of the current ones could give 25. Do not reach conclusions yet.

And this way of interruption was clearly a stupid bug, which never got fixed until today… because they only way how you can interrupt Dagger Storm why ever is with FEAR, which is a status, which you should be IMMUNE TO due to Stability.
It is even listed under the effects, that are ineffektive, while you have stability and and it interrupts you >.<
So its clearly a bug…
I absolutely also see no problem with Dagger Storm, if the Skill just gets changed from Stability over 9 seconds to say 25 Stacks of Stability, this should be enough Stacks to last 9 seconds to not be CC’ed (and hopefuly Anet fixes then also this kitten fear bug with the change too)
Dagger storm is already worth it for the projectile reflect alone.

^ This. I was also unaware of the fear-breaking-daggerstorm-stability-bug, that’s just amazing in the worst way lol.
Don’t follow me, unless you enjoy being chased by angry men with sticks.
Power Build Condi Build
I think all things stability will get a review, hopefully nothing falls through the cracks.
I do not care much about the stability change since it affects us less than other profession such the stupidly overpowered Warriors. It’s time that they put that profession in line with everybody else.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
One would THINK that assassins equilibrium would see significant adjustment to the point where more might find it useful and use it with these changes. I just can not conceive they would entertain the idea of one single stack that lasts 1.5 seconds.
RIP Dagger storm.
Meh, I used it for everythign but the stability really…
That was just a nice bonus :P
even before its useless in pvp
Why RIP dagger storm??? Do you get cced 4 times in 3second very often? Ya I guess it can happen, but it will be hard and that’s the point of the change. You can counter stability, but you sacrifice a couple of cc for that. The problem would more present in WvW, but do you really start a dagger storm in the middle of a zerg? You gonna die before you lose your stability.
It’s actually true, despite the general stability nerf I honestly doubt one would attempt to interrupt it. Better keep your controls until the dagger storm ends. I don’t even know if the built-in reflect will, or not, cancel a projectile based CC’s attempt to remove the said stacks.
Only time I see this being a problem is in gvg fights. Zergs don’t coordinate CC, especially not near their own. Small scale doesn’t have enough CC’s to worry about really.

I can answer that. Say I shoot a thief doing dagger storm with point blank shot as a ranger…. Point blank shot IS in fact reflected and I as the ranger get knocked back. No effect on thief
Dont think its that poblematic tbh. One thing that is annoying tho, is that you cant dodge out of DS and keep your stability to escape…
I’d vastly prefer five stacks of stability upfront that last 8 seconds with no additional stability generation. The model of stability generating over time that seems to be dominant now simply does not work for Dagger Storm – an elite skill that forces you to stay in a locked animation, does very little damage and is only good as an extreme counter to projectiles. Or perhaps just for the stability.
Problem is, that if a single CC gets through Dagger Storm, the whole action is cancelled, ending the stability generation and the Dagger Storm itself. Things like Lich Form and Rampage As One don’t end when you get CC’d, but rather keep going and generating the stability stacks until the effect has ended or been cancelled. Now, let’s say in PvP you are facing a team with heavy projectiles, power necros and rangers and such, plus a thief. Dagger Storm should be a trivial counter to the projectiles, but as you cannot dodge without losing the whole effect, the thief, with dazesteal that ultimately steals your stability will just eat you alive. After that has happened, you are left with nothing but a 90s cooldown on an elite that you can’t even make the most of. If it gave more stability upfront, you could dodge out of the harm’s way and keep at least something in hand (stability) without losing everything.
This is why people still see Basilisk Venom as the best elite for PvP and arguably for WvW, and I’m inclined to agree.
I used Thieves Guild for WvW ’cause people get scared when they see more bodies pop up!
