After posting an idea for the new specializations, one of the comments talked about adding stances, and I thought it was a fantastic idea.

Stances were an skill type that has no activation time and benefits the user. Each character can only have one stance in effect at a time. A small number of stances also have a detrimental effect, e.g. Frenzy also causes one to take double damage. This is the Guild Wars 1 skill type.

What would be cool is to see thieves have their new skills be stances.

A few of the original ones from Gw1 were Flashing Blades, dark escape and deadly paradox and way of the assassin.

Some new utilities or Elites could be

Flashing Blades – Elite Stances Skill
X seconds, 75% chance to evade attacks. Whenever you successfully evade an attack, your attacker takes X damage.
Or – pulsing Aegis every second for the duration (10-15 seconds?) and enemies that are blocked take damage. [Quoted from Auesis.7301]
Or – Every autoattack for 10 – 15 seconds creatres a blind radius of 300. Whenever an ememy misses or you successfully evade an attack, they take z damage

Next up is Dark Escape.
Healing skill – Stance
Gain Super speed, take half damage and channel heal for ‘Z’ seconds. Maybe make it able to break stun and be the first heal to do that would be pretty unique.

Deadly Paradox [also quoted from Auesis.7031]
If the new specialsation causes initiative to be removed, then this would act like
Stance – (5…13…15 seconds.) Your Assassin skills activate and recharge 33% faster.
If initiative is here to stay then
Stance – your Initiative regeneration is increased by 33% and your skills activate 33% faster
Disables Autoattack for a period

Unseen Fury
Stance – Inflicts blindness on all adjacent foes for ‘x’ seconds. Your attacks are unblockable on blind foe

And Last but not least, Shadow Form

This would have to be the new ‘Steal’ Or an elite, but would need some toning down as it is too OP currently but the main idea is

Stance – X seconds: Enemy Spells can not target you. Evade all attacks. You may still attack. Also breaks stun.

The more toned down version is
Stance – X seconds: Enemy Spells can not target you. You may still attack. Also breaks stun. When this stance ends, lose all but 1000 health or something

Tell me what you guys think and if these aresome cool ideas
