I have started to play my thief recently and noticed that when going d/d & s/d I didn’t need a dagger equipped in 2nd set and can go d/d & s/nothing. You keep all the stats/sigils/skills of your off hand dagger in 1st set while being s/nothing in 2nd set.

Is this working as intended?

Wish I had noticed earlier it would have saved me some gold on sigil >_<. I know on my other toons this isn’t how it works so was surprised to randomly notice this on thief.

It works that way in every professions. You can even go D/D and Nothing/P and still have the same effect.

http://sirvincentiii.com ~ In the beginning…there was Tarnished Coast…
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.

I don’t know what sigil you wasted your gold in, but you can always get a second dagger with a “on swap this effect happens” sigil for what it’s worth. If you prefer that sigil type you bought on both sets then yeah, S/- would do the trick.
