Noob Question about deadeye
Ok, this may sound silly, but I really think that TANK DEADEYE can be viable. The specialization has A LOT of damage and tanky build can be useful.
This build will cut it’s damage to half but, it can tank some damage and deal damage at the same time.

Otherwise, yes. You should build full berserker or marauder to do real damage.

i read some ware that a condition build is also achievable and has a huge condi spike to it BUT it’s all about spamming one ability #2 so… boring, not for me…

Tanky means more than just not using zerker stats.
And no, neither core thief or daredevil, nor deadeye will be even close to being tanky.
I highly doubt that Rifle will end up being meta for PvE Deadeye. It’s far more likely that the damage buffs from Malice, along with the traits that also play with Malice, will be used along with other weapon sets like D/D, S/P, and Shortbow due to their ability to pull higher DPS, or greater AoE/Support potential, than the Rifle has.
Berserkers, however, will, more than likely, be the common meta set of choice. Just gotta wait until the theorycrafters have a chance to crunch the numbers and provide information regarding best-in-class stat combinations for Deadeye. That’ll most likely have to wait for PoF to actually release first, though I may be mistaken as I haven’t exactly gone looking for anything of that sort.

Using Rifle 2 for poison stacking when you can use Pistol 2 for the same reason also throwing on 5 vuln stacks (which would increase your DPS) and not needing to be immobile to get it… plus also getting P1 for bleed stacking and either access to interrupts and a smoke field for blinds with offhand pistol, or a jump back + torment + stealth access (which sets up P1 bleeds) with off hand dagger?
Deadeye also faces the issue that Malice and none of its abilities help condi damage.
Deadeye’s saving grace for a condi build is traited steals. With Mark resetting on target death, you can run Deadly Arts and Trickery for every Mark to bomb Poison, Confusion, Boon strip, flat damage all along with giving you initiative and Fury + Might + Swiftness + Vigor. Mercy allows you to double-bomb Mark on a single target. If targets are dying fast enough, the boons can easily become perma (though not much of a Might stacker).
The biggest problem with this build is how clunky Marking currently is. The cast time is slow and obvious making it an easy target for interrupts in PvP/WvW and feel a bit tedious in PvE. Considering the possibility of Mark spam, it does need a cast, but hoping that animation gets halved.
The combo of might on stolen abilities allows close to perma 25 might depending on build.
As mentioned the double mark combo may produce high DPS spikes and the might stacks will give decent boosts to all damage types.
I anticipate the best builds will be hybrid.
I would not recommend Zerks on Deadeye, even for PvE if you are going to roll with a rifle. Take Marauders instead. Unless they changed how quickly you can crouch and get back up, it will afford you a few blows without sacrificing a whole lot.
Also, some of the mobs in PoF will absolutely obliterate you if you get hit once in Zerks. I’m not talking about in one hit. They usually hit you with a combo of CCs, so you’ll have to sit there while you eat a lot of damage. Zerks will normally get killed by it. Marauders gives you enough to survive and get away.
