Guild Wars 2

Hey all. So I’ve got an 80 warrior and 80 mesmer and I’m thinking thief is going to be the next profession I spend all my tomes of knowledge on. Animations are a huge part of what I like about this game and I’m considering going either Asura or Norn. I’ve already seen the Asura daredevil animations and they look pretty good. I do like the idea of having a Norn thief for some reason though. Not max height or anything but I haven’t been able to find anyone showing the norn daredevil skills off.

I’m no norn thief but I’d imagine all the staff skills to look exactly the same, same vault animation since they are big humans, auto chain the same too I’d imagine since it ends in a one handed twirl. I could be wrong but I strongly feel that if you look at sylvari/human animations, you’ll get norn for the case of staff

Make a Norn Thief and go to the mists. You can test any animations you like. I feel like Norn are too slugish, but maybe the quick animations and perma swiftness would help. Otherwise Asura all the way.

Zodryn man I didn’t even think of that! Probably because all the PvP Ive ever done in this game is WvW. Yeah it’s weird how slow Norn’s “feel” my Warrior is a max height Norn. Even though the run speed is exactly the same as other races. But yeah I figured with all the dashing around and swiftness it might not matter.

Norn look awesome! I think a problem with all DDs is the hammer idle/run/walk anim, it never looks good with any of the races. They don’t feel slow at all in combat with any height though, since the Daredevil animations are generally fast. But yes they do take longer strides when they run (and thus feel slower), swiftness makes a fair difference.
