Odds that Thief gets a buff?
However, the posts I read here seem to say otherwise…are Thieves just the black sheep of the family? Just getting pushed aside patch after patch?
More or less. Even with that aside, they don’t do big balance patches often enough… we’re averaging about 1.5 a year max at this point. Not ideal.
They also balance around golems in the PvP lobby.
Odds that Thief gets a buff, is the same as going to the nearest gas station, buying 1 lottery ticket, and winning with it.
The second coming will probably happen sooner than a proper class balance (which almost equates to a complete class overhaul at this point).

Theif has plenty enough already. other classes have needed the attention longer and thiefs need to be on the chopping block. Hope they nerf you into the dirt.
hahahahaha. Either you are a troll or you have no clue about the current state of the game.

Please tell me this isn’t true! Surely you have to play a class to know it’s weaknesses and strengths.
I’m not counting on it.
Hilarious!
They’re the same as the odds that you strike oil in the bathroom of a mansion you won in a lottery, before being the first person on Mars, but after your whirlwind fling with an Icelandic supermodel while your band Leaf Seven (known for their hypnotic rhythms and driving baselines) is on world tour.
But don’t worry, even if we do get buffed, Anet will spend the next 2 patches nerfing it into the ground (so at least we’ll get a year out of it, heh), and the community will kitten about it for 3 years.
pre-ordered HOT at this point,
save yourself the money and don’t bother.

Well alright…since I’m still a relatively low level I may make another class to see how big of a difference it really is. Elementalist gameplay looked cool but there are also like 99999999 Elementalists running around right now…

you can play thief 2.0 otherwise known as Mesmer. They basically do our job now with about a quarter of the effort, triple our burst and double our stealth, OH and they are ranged.
According to the Infinite Monkey Theorem (and yes, that is a real thing – look it up), a monkey typing random keys on a typewriter, given an infinite amount of time will eventually almost surely type something like the complete works of William Shakespeare. In fact, the odds of this are so small that if the entire universe were full of monkeys typing away at random keys, it would still take countless eons just to produce one of Shakespeare’s plays, let alone the complete works.
So, what are the odds that thieves will get a buff? About the same as two monkeys typing War and Peace (1225 pages) over the weekend.

Typically patch notes look something like this for the classes:
Warrior: Did three things that made warriors easier to play, more effective in combat, etc.
Other classes besides thief: Basically same as warrior.
Thief: Corrected a spelling error in one of the tool tips.
And it happens over, and over, and over. . . ..

This so kitten much +1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000,

hahahaha that’s messed up.
Thief – Raiden Hayabusa
Thief – Gouki Kurokawa
For those of you who don’t know it:

Of course there are so many people playing ele, why put your team at a disadvantage by picking something else?
realistically, Acrobatics is likely to get buffed because it was weakened to avoid being too strong in synergy with DD, and now that DD is in they can afford to tune it up a bit.
I also expect concealed defeat or shadows embrace to either get moved or merged with something else. the way they are positioned now is destructive to shadow arts synergy. stealth based players are forced to chose between two traits that are both near mandatory for their success, the lack of one severely reduces stealth-heavy viability.
but maybe thats the plan right? make stealth suck to push DD to meta, drive sales…
