In WvW.

I am plainly visible and not even attempting stealth, but in about 15 minutes time (going by my food buff timer) I have gotten in 3 fights with rangers. 2 of them put me into a revealed state while I Was fully visible and had not used any skill for stealth.

Joy for anyone in WvW, because this will be abused and anet will do nothing about it for months.

It sucks i know. Pick rangers love to get us with it.

Edit: I blame mesmers for its utilization in WvW. Also carry daggerstorm as an oh kitten button for lb rangers. You can use smokescreen if you prefer.

N/m. not a bug. Just some ridiculous anti thief ability I had not seen before. Sic’ Em.

It has been in the game for at least a year though.

Oh Sic Em. A skill with zero counterplay but run for your life and line of sight. Nothing to dodge, insane range, higher reveal time than normal.

The moment you meet a ranger in WvW make sure you have access to cover. That is pretty much the only sure way to survive this, except maybe by forcing a Shadowstep.

Well you could also drop a smoke screen and make your own (temporary) cover :p Bonus points if the pet will sit in it and blind itself constantly.

You use an utility to counter another utility. Kinda fair.

Only problem with sic em is that you have no clue what caused the reveal… You can’t tell if it’s your own or done by an ability like sic em. We need color coded reveal debuffs when done by skills like sic em. Been asking since wvw traps came out but anet hates us…

I’m sufficiently amused by how Anet’s resolution to the problem of “stealth has no counterplay” was to introduce a skill that shuts down stealth, but has no counterplay.
