Sigil(s) on pistols = won’t stack, only one proc on crit allowed – if one procs the others ICD kicks in too.
Why soldier’s SB/why health on kill proc sigil?
-if going for defensive loadout with it, why not more knights/something with a main defensive stat if so (EP is already ~5k, offensive stats look legit, mostly).
Looks like a roaming build for wvwvw. The stealth seems more emergency to me, so I would really use Withdraw as healing for the faster cd/movement impairment removal. You still have blackpowder>switch>CBombs for stealth (if you are stuck on keeping in 10SA for condi removal), and your house. Speaking of the 10 in SA, I honestly would drop it, with P/P’s burdensome access to stealth (HiS would have removed most damaging conditions anyway).

If you aren’t dead set on the 10 in SA, I would move them to more trickery (I am a trickery fanboy) for Bountiful (or ricochet since you are gun slinging), or to DA for mug. Even the last 10 in Acro for quick pockets (I would love to suggest hard to catch, but it’s too unreliable in any sort of terrain) or something else.

If you do try out withdraw, change up your 10 point acrobatic trait to vigorous recovery.

I would also change out your malign upgrades to strong (whatever the powers are called). The token condition damage does as much as your 100 from trickery – jack squat.

if you feel you’re going to have easier access to stealth (and keeping the 10 in SA for condi removal), I feel sig of agility is a waste too, unless you’re keeping it for the endurance (try out withdraw/vigorous recovery combo, and you may not need it for endurance). I’d swap blinding powder if I kept the 10sa, and maybe devourer venom or something if not (stacking immobs causes panic stunbreaks, especially when unloads follow).

All in all it’s workable but has a few quirks that just don’t fit my playstyle (but I have run that exact number setup with traits). If you can make it work have at it, but I feel p/p in a power set is just starving for ini because of unload and a sub par auto, thus thinning your chances for clutch stealths with your initiative (hard with having to swap to do so), or eating utilities you may not have planned to use at that moment.

Good luck with it and I hope my broken comments over a 15 minute period of spacing out and half kitten browsing forums was helpful.

Thanks for advices.

Yes it’s mostly a WvW (and some PVE build).

Soldier SB is for easier tanking in high number fight.

I’ll take a look at your suggestions. Thanks a lot

If this is for wvw I’d take 2 0 sa and ditch truckery. If this is pvp id go 0/30/20/0/20 my choice

Low hp pool, low EHP, and poor condition removal.

Sacrificed 350 EP and 2.2% dmg reduction for an additional ~3250 EHP and larger health pool. Changed SoS for Shadowstep for mobility and condition removal, maintained 25% movement speed through travelers rune. Added 3 more initiative and 15% more damage (under the right circumstances), removed mug and steal buff since your both sets are ranged and poor access to stealth. Withdraw or SoM can be discussed, imo Withdraw is a better decision in open field combat and prevents you from being locked down by movement imparing effects which in thieves cases leads to a certain death.

The build can be further optimized but this is a good start, that’s my 5000000 cents.

Now others can correct me if I am wrong but it my understanding that weapon sigils that proc on crit all share the same ICD. Your sigil of Generosity has a 10 second ICD meaning that sigil of fire will not proc in that 10 second cooldown after a crit.

When that cooldown does runs its course , the odds of getting another sigil of Generosity to proc are higher again thus that fire sigil will rarely go off. You might be better off with force on that second sigil damage wise.

It also my understanding that sigil of Generosity will proc on crit even if you have no conditions on you.

I note you have fire in mainhand and generosity in the off hand so in theory my understanding is the one in main will proc first. It much harder to do that math but that should allow more fire to rpoc but will cut down on overall generosity.

I’m really not sure about that, since ICD are not the same for Generosity (10secs) and Fire (5secs)

Any comments about the builds i’ve posted just before?

All of this info SHOULD be correct, but from my experience, fire procs quite regularly even if using generosity main hand. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or not, but that’s what I’ve been running for a quite a long time.

Your build choices should reflect your style of gameplay. If you run with a group and are good at positioning, an ini-regen/ricochet build with knight’s gear and on-swap sigils would be good option. If you’re more solo-oriented, I’d focus more on damage, escapes, and cleanses (Pain Response is almost a necessity for that type of play).

I’m not a fan of divinity/celestial stuff. I prefer building towards maximizing your strong points and using utilities/sigils/runes to cover your weaknesses. The better you are at using terrain, dodging, and moving around during a fight, the glassier you can build. I run JUST enough toughness to survive getting hit by a backstab combo. Everything else is pure offense. It works for me because I’m a very twitchy, reflexive player by nature who loves being in the thick of a fight and dodging around like crazy. But it’s not a style I would recommend to others just starting out as a P/P thief. Play it safe at first until you figure out your strengths/weaknesses, then build accordingly.

Listen to El Taquito Bandito. He is THE P/P. Go search his videos on youtube.

Though in his last video he wins with no weapons, so might have been winning despite using P/P…

I’ll listen to his advices for sure!

But i’ve been playing WvW as thief P/P and Shortbow for a year now nearly.

Playing in a big guild, as a raid sentinel : Option from Seaferer’s Rest on EU Server.

I started whith a venom sharing,...

....to swap later on a more survivability/stealth set for scouting.

that’s why i’m looking for some advices, since i wanna still play around the raid, but with more bust, as a DPS Range

It is really hard to test. I retraited from a condition thief to a crit power thief and tested this to no end with generosity/fire. I then used unload over and over again. At times I was convinced that information on ICDS was wrong as fire went off and then I would no longer see it go off.

It a nice combo of sigils. I just wish we could be sure as to how the ICD works.

By the way I did play this almost exact build for some time. You can really pound out the damage but you have to be very aware of your surroundings. Even moving around and with all those dodges you are flimsy. A backstab takes you down fast. You have to stay at range. My biggest survival tool was in fact taking 10 points in trickery for instinctual response. This put you in stealth after any single hit of more then 10 percent.

With shadows embrace this also removes a condition. It very handy and allows you to get out of immediate danger of another attack that would finish you.

Fleet shadow is also something else to consider. This allows you to rapidly reopen the range and reset your battlefield position after you stealth. So very often my Instinctual response would kick in to an attack I did not see coming. Instant stealth occurs and a condition removed. I then run to another area of the battlefield while hid and start unloads again.

Pain response and Instictual Response are options i’m thinking about also.

But i"m really wondering if i shall use a "Ricochet" build, or a "stealth" one.
