Overwhelming amount of thief changes Dec 3
Well at least I can Steal without the Cultist Hammer vanishing on me.
Hint: I expected more than this.

What is a stolen bundle item lol
what were you expecting? the thief is on a very good state atm. Stealth still needs to be fixed (channeled abilities following though stealth and pets/clones/phantoms also following though stealth) aside from that i think were very strong as we are.
Well I wasn’t expecting much just hoping that the thief thread they brought up would be put to use and maybe our suggestions would get through to them.
We’ll see what happens through christmas… more waiting
If you think thief is in a very good state idk what to tell you, traps are buggy as hell and need massive changes so do venoms along with other things I don’t need to go into detail just go read the thread.
Also I was expecting at the very least a balance to dancing dagger. They didn’t even touch it.. looks like it’s staying 4 initiative lol useless

The whirling axe change is actually great. That ability went from the absolute best to the worst after they removed stability. At least the other more underwhelming steal abilities didn’t make me a free kill.

- I think it’s ill-advised to make big balance changes before fixing culling.
Bug-fixing known issues is another matter, but those issues have been documented and tracked since, like, day one. If they were easy to fix and a priority, they’d have been fixed by now. I don’t think the thread has altered their visibility.

I guess you must have missed the part where I said hoping and not expecting.
It is good that they are going for bugs – it’s a major outcry from the community right now, but tons of things still left unchanged. It’s only a little disappointing.

I know Rangers got at least one stealth bugfix to one of their traits (a good one too), so be on the lookout here as well and post if you see any.

Yeah but it was fun being god after stealing from a warrior.. the old version let you evade everything it was hilariously OP not gonna lie. Btw all this update changes is you can cancel it now, it’s still the same as always since the evade nerf to it.
Meaning if I just had to C&D at the time it will cancel the spin and allow me to C&D.

Whirling axe was overpowered lol, it still is since its like 11k aoe damage( all 15 hits usually hit around that for me) it wasn’t stability either, it was evasion which is another way of saying invulnerable.
December 21st is close and still nothing on Body Shot .Guess we are stucked with it till the end of the world…

It’s not OP, it’s ridiculous how projectiles can seek an invisible target. But fine, why don’t we make channeling abilities that start before invulnerability hit for full damage? Many channeling spells can last the entire duration of our stealth, some even longer, and completely give away our position. It doesn’t make sense conceptually, and we sacrifice a lot for our mobility & stealth, it’s not asking too much that stupid nonsense like this be corrected.

Me thinks you not know the point of stealth. Kinda hard to be invisible when some channeled spells are literally pointing to where you are trolol
Not asking for vanish, but channeled skills need to stop following target that is stealthed, it makes us too vulnerable it’s easy enough as it is to spam auttoattack and get hits on a stealthed thief.
It’st he worse with mesmers and ele’s having that hour long channeled autoattack
Should be the only things that stop casting when a target stealths, unless they can make it to where it continues to channel but stops following at the same time.
This is both a pve and pvp problem, very annoying.

If you’re holding an environmental weapon (like hammer/torch in fractals) and use what you steal, you won’t lose the environmental weapon you were holding anymore.

This. My guess is that the bug was a result of steal’s early design actually giving you a bundle/skill bar. They moved the stolen skills to just rest on the f1, but they never removed the special case “drop bundle so we can give you the stolen one” bit until now, when people noticed it.

I guess nobody noticed but you can now use dodge rolls during the whirling axe attack without canceling it. This actually makes it viable to use again, especially if your getting swift/might and dropping caltrops on your dodge rolls.

so what if dancing dagger is now useless? Other classes have loads of useless skills. The apparently super tiny live balance team has much more important things to be working on
I must’ve missed the dev post saying this patch would fix all of the thief issues, so I guess I’m not upset that it didn’t.
Has scorpion wire been fixed? (I haven’t played in over a week)
That’s all I want to see atm. maybe improvements to pistol main hand
