Hey everyone I was wondering what you guys would recommend in making a P/D condi build. I plan to use this mostly for WvW roaming and with groups. This is my setup, but I’d like more opinions on it to make it as effective as I can before I dump a bunch of gold into it. I’ve only experimented with it in 1v1s in our sPvP arena against a buddy of mine (condi necro, no burning) and I won most of the duels.

the main problem you will have is cc. you have no stun breaker. i would change signet of shadows to shadow step. also i would take 10 points of SA and switch it to Trickery picking up bountiful thief( gains vigor on steal/ rips 2 boons) on top of that i would change your second SA to leeching venom. the two you have now are great also but thats just my preference.

when i run a condi thief i dont use SR. instead i run the skale venom.

runes: i would change yours to undead… they are super good for defense and give you alot of condi with ur toughness.

sigils: depending on ur switch weapons i would change ur stack sigil to increase bleed duration 10% if ur running two p/d then keep then id change it to bleed on switch instead and focus more on bleeds.

Thank you for the input. I chose adventurer runes for the condi/power damage, but I found the extra dodge helpful since I had no vigor or feline grace. Maybe combined with bountiful theft the runes would be more useful? I’d prefer to take out 10 from DA and get rid of Mug, the 100 tough/hp and health regen in stealth + might is too good to pass up IMO.

yea tru i agree taking out DA instead. also only take out SR if u feel comfertable with it. SR is a big staple for thieves and most have grown so use to the back up… meaning they can jump in to almost anything and just SR out playing without SR makes you think more and imo makes you a better player. but if you do take off SR, the Life steal on leechin venoms helps ALOT.

on top of all of this i use dodge roll instead of the stealth heal…. mainly because my build is a Spvp build and stealth hinders us becasue we cannot cap points in stealth.

if u use the roll instead, there is a 10 point trait in acro that gives vigor on heal skill which can def help out your endurance

SR refuge on a P/D build lets you use on demand without a CnD, plus when you use sneak attack while in your refuge you’ll get life stealing projectiles, combined with your SA line it’s basically a full 2nd heal skill. I’d go 30 in trickery getting yourself the 20s dazing steal and caltrops. I personally prefer ricochet, because I rely on sneak attack so it puts some pressure on multiple enemies.. Venoms are ok, but I’d use infil signet instead for the CnD – Steal/infil – Sneak attack – shadow strike combo. I keep mug so that stealing also heals and deals damage during the combo since it can’t crit anyway anymore.

always bring shadow refuge and blinding powder……and shadowstep…… those are a must. i like HIS too bc it doubles well with descent into shadow.

also all that 30 in DA is not a good idea…really. espeically brining more than 1 poison. :P i mean if ur dueling i could maybe see brining pioson…but not for a build thats meant for more.
