I have been using p/d in both pve (almost lvl 40 atm) and pvp to pretty good effect in 1v1 situations and it seems so effective to me that I am surprised that I have not seen much discussion of it. Basically with the blind on stealth and +2 points of ini traits you spam 5 (as long as stealth is off the relieved debuff) followed by 1 to do the pistol sneak attack.

This appears to do slightly less damage than death blossom spamming but the trade off is that the bleed is 4s vs 10 so you are less dependent on your opponent not hitting condition removal,, it only takes 4 ini to initiate this chain and you are spamming blind and stealthed half the time so you are effectively much less squishy.

In pve the blind spam makes me effectively invulnerable but I am still doing pretty good damage unlike with situations where I would have to spam black powder using s/p.

Any thoughts? Am I missing something?

I ran a similar build in sPvP for a bit.

I stacked condition damage + venoms, using Carrion gear. Basically set it up for max condition damage and infinite restealth.

Pretty trollish build, but it kills slightly slowly since you need to pace the re-stealths. Of course, not doing “perma stealth” and using the blinds and stuff is more intelligent, but perma stealth trolling is too fun.
