Hi guys,

Sorry to bother you, but I have a question : why are rogues OP ? Ok, just kidding.

On a more serious note, how to use P/D ? There’s a cr*pload of fun in it, but i can’t manage to understand how to make it work smoothly.

Is stealth and cond damage the answer ? If so, how to be stealthy enough to use the first attack and stack bleeds ? And is this set of weapons relying on cloak and dagger -if so, on being at melee range most of the time (and maybe using caltrops to add more bleeds ) ?

I use P/D as a single-target bleed build. Dagger gives you the ability to enter stealth with CnD, which gives you Sneak Attack, which is a great bleed applier.
Body Shot is unpopular, but great in WvW for keeping Vuln up on big targets. Use when needed, otherwise ignore.
Shadow Strike is great for getting out of melee range.
Dancing Dagger is the same old fantastic cripple.

I like to use Caltrops for some added AoE, or pair with SB for Cluster Bomb+det spam for AoE bleeds.
Having Shadow Refuge or Blinding Poweder for more stealth access is great, but not really needed as most of your initiative will go to CnD since you can keep bleeds up with autoattack.

The idea behind it is to Sneak Attack then dodge or Shadow Strike away. in and out very quickly while autoattacking for those extra bleeds. Kite until they die.

It’s real weakness is AoE situations, but as mentioned above, there are ways around it.

My main problem is with cloak and dagger. Entering combat from a distance (steal is not always up) prevents me from entering stealth soon enough and apply bleeds as fast as i want to.

As you can guess, i’m not the most skillful player out there, and maybe S/D requires to put more skills than i’m able to.
But i’m really fond of the concept, so…

I don’t have much trouble entering combat just by autoattacking. Get those bleeds stacked on them right off so they waste condition purges before you use initiative for CnD>Sneak Attack. If they have to chase you, all the better. If they are ranged and going to beat you, just troll them or wait for a better opportunity.

You can either use a closer utility to get yourself in melee range faster or a stealth utility to stealth at a range and close as you use your first sneak attack.
