PVE Condition Build for Fun?
For leveling, d/d with caltrop util and caltrop on dodge is pretty fun. Decent survival with dodges from 3 spam. Run signet of malice and you can jump into a mob and bleed everyone to death with good sustain (it procs on hits from 3 AND on every tick of caltrops). P/D is a more active style but not as good vs many enemies.
As far as gear, I used to use a mix of Carrion and Rabid using condi’s. For thief, I’d mostly just focus on bleed and poison since that’s the most abundant dmg condi’s we have so i’d take deadly arts, trickery, and whatever 3rd you want but probably go with shadow arts though. P/D is a good weapon set for the stealth 1 for bleed app but very short duration. D/D deathblossom is the skill you’ll want to use the most so you can probably just run both those weapon sets. The shortbow’s condi app is pretty weak but i’d keep one in inventory just because it’s the best kitten weapon for thief there is.
Also i’d put a bit of power behind you’re attacks since bleed duration is pretty short base duration for pistol so since you’ll be applying them often, might as well chip away while you’re getting bleeds on them.
D/D DB Spam with Caltrops and Needle Trap actually works extremely well in PvE, despite how often people talk about DB sucking. You definitely want Deadly Arts. Depending on how much you want to invest, you might want to go for rampagers gear and run with signet of agility, grabbing runes that proc conditions on your weapons.
SB or P/D are the best secondary sets, but neither will be as potent as the above. P/D is good for single target, SB for groups.

^Pretty much this.
Just tag as many mobs as you can, drop caltrops via the trait when you dodge and the utility when the mobs are bunched after aggro and 3xDB.With SoM as your heal it’s pretty much impossible to drop. Due to the new “steal may recharge” trait I add a trap to my utility that pops a thief as I often trigger it and have two thieves running around or I slot in Roll for ini so I can steal back in and drop more bleeds and then rinse repeat if I get the trigger.
Have pretty much run this build since release and it’s great for solo play. You can pretty much finish this game PvE wise using auto-attack but bunching all that trash mob and bleeding them to death is way faster. I leave the gank builds for PvP or Dungeons.
try this. D/d using caltrop and dagger training use Caltrops and spider venom. With dagger training and the venoms you will do oodles of damage with bleed and poison.
train to improv in DA. if trick recharges you get caltrops again. if venoms all tha poison.
