I’ve been playing around quite a bit lately with my gear in order to test different ideas and was hoping you all might be able to give me some advice? Right now, I’m going with the 10/30/30/0/0 build with D/P + SB as my primary weapons. Sometimes I’ll change over to D/D + P/P just for the heck of it. As for gear, I use all Valkyrie armor with orbs and Zerker for everything else. If I was to use the same build and accessories, would the Power, Toughness, Vitality gear with +crit addons work well for a decent bunker/tank build? I often find myself in a situation where it’s 3 or more against me and it would nice to live long enough to get away.

Anyways, what do you all think/suggest?

D/P with health regen, initiative regen and condition removal on stealth is powerful if played right. You’re regenerating so much hp and blinding your enemy that you really doesn’t need soldier gear. It works nice with pure berserker gear actually, but you can use Valkyrie for more health if you feel you need it.

If you want to go tanky as in no stealth I would recommend S/P with 10/0/0/30/30 as one type. Lots of health and initiative regen while you still keep good pressure. You can dodge all the time and the time you’re not evading you’re either blinding or interrupting your enemy ;p

I’ve never really been able to get a tank build for thief that doesn’t rely on evades/stealth, even with full PTV, but if you have enough vitality and toughness so that you don’t melt on revealed(generally, I like to stick to 16K+ vit and at least 2100 armor) then you should be fine when dealing with a pug group of 3. Depending on how skilled they are you may simply melt w/ seemingly endless CCs or you will come out victorious.

If I were you, OP, I would run some sort of valkyrie/PTV mix with at least a ~30% crit chance through the use of knights/zerker and simply utilize fury for 50% crit chance. It works quite well in spvp, but you would need runes that give fury, along with fury on steal and fury when your enemy reaches 50%.

You could also run the precision boosting signet as well, if you don’t mind losing one utility.

Thanks for the help folks! I think I’ll go work on this set of armor and play around with it a bit. Normal DPS is fun but I wanted to try something different for a bit.
