AikijinX- [Mada] [MILF] [HUNT] 7.3k Thief Hours
Defend Your Back
S/D #3- Once you’ve adapted to it, it’s pretty easy to use. Me being a Crit Thief, I don’t tend to use 3 as religiously, CnD is much more opening and hard hitting once landed (In my perspective with a crit build) unless i am trying to perma evade a rapid fire, or any stealthed attacks. Honestly I say this nerf is a blessing once you’ve adapted. But yes those of you who were the 3 spamming evasion specs, i guess you can say it did hurt your burst damage exponentially.
Rapid Fire Ranger- I hear a lot of Thieves complaining about the ranger’s like 6000 range (exaggeration). But honestly all you need to do is get close to them, and CnD. What average Thieves fail to forget is we have a 1500 range steal trait (Long Reach). I’ve been carrying this trait for over a year, and I can’t explain how useful and convenient it is to have. Having the element of surprise and stealing from a longer range is much more useful, than a 900 range easily anticipated steal.
Steal Bug- Yes it is quite a nuisance, and everyone has had it done to them once post patch. But what I would suggest is to memorize your blinkable areas, and obstructed areas. This will help you in the long run.
— I’ve also notice that doing multiple clicks (I’m a fast styled player), then turning your camera while in motion and attempting a steal also has a low success rate. Thats simply a bug that needs to be fixed.
Don’t lose faith in your Thief.

The only gripe I have about S/D is the increase in the FS cost. Totally unwarranted. It was already balanced at 3 initiatives.

This is not an exaggeration. This skill shoots 10 arrows that hits between 1k-2k when it crits on the Heavy golem. In my tests, I get atleast 4-5 crits per Rapid Fire.
Now the chances of all arrows to hit is slim against moving target, but if the ranger got lucky with 3 crits, that will net them 6k damage against a Thief.
What’s aggravating about this skill is that, you cannot break it with stealth once it started because it is a channeled ability. With nothing to use for LOS, Thief will take at least 5-6 arrows.

Long Reach has a terrain issue ever since from the beginning that it seems likely that will never get fixed. Sure your suggestion makes sense only if you are fighting on a flat ground. Once you introduced slopes and pebbles, you’ll be wasting your Steal more often than actually connecting with it.

This is actually more than a nuisance and often a game breaking experience. Most of our play style revolve around this skill and for it to fail is simply unacceptable.
Wasting initiative on CnD because Steal fail often means the Thief will die.

Well, faith is based on trust, and trust is based on knowledge, and knowledge is based on sharing information. ArenaNet failed on the first step. If I would have faith — that faith would be blind.
