Guild Wars 2

I’m relatively new to the thief class, and wanted to know what setup people are using to hit so high with pistol whip. I’ve seen people hitting 15k in the CoF dungeon. Currently, I’m using all berserkers gear with ruby orbs and can’t hit over 10k. Any help would be much appreciated.

To get 15 I’m sure there’s alot of Might stacking involved. When I do CoF on my Thief I don’t get more than 10K on my Pistol Whip using 2 Superior Runes of Smothering and a Powerful Potion of Flame Legion Slaying. I also use an Omnomberry Bar for more gold but the best food for more damage would be Bowl of Sweet and Spicy Butternut Squash Soup. Too expensive in my opinion though

Yep, 15K needs full Might stacks, Fury and Vulnerability on the target. I average 7-8K with mostly Zerker and 25/30/0/15/0. I still run Omnom Pie and SoM for the heals.

Sigil of Smothering and Sigil of Night for the 2 weapons if you care enough, those 2 stack in there, 2 smothering do not.

Yep, same here. I also like carrying D/D on swap for acolytes and final boss (when I’m feelin extra frisky).

I’ve been wondering if I’d get more damage out of a Night sigil instead of Accuracy which I am currently using.

executioner also helps get the15k mark. the only time I ever hit that high is when the enemy is below 50%.

0-15-0 is actually junk for cof (and any d/d build which is the highest dps weapon set). If you’re spamming that 3, you won’t be dodging (won’t be able to dodge either). Better to go 0-0-15 for the extra whip or 10-0-5 for the sustained cnd/backstab combo (while always remaining over 6 ini) and the burst ini when hs spamming.

My backstabs don’t hot nearly as high as the ones in the video. Maybe a lack of ascended gear could also account for some of the extra damage? How much do thieves normally hit without sigils specifically for CoF and without food?

Mine usually range from 9-11k when the target is above 50% and 13-16k below 50%. That’s in CoF where my teamates give me about 5-15 stacks of might (unorganized pugs who don’t drop fire fields or know how blast finishers work). My highest was 20k-ish with 25 might. That’s without food or cof pots.

I run that with S/P, S/D and D/D. Really don’t care enough to respec for CoF TBH. I was simply stating my experience with pistol whip.
