In your opinion, which race is most adequate for a thief (look-wise, lore-wise; even personal-opinion-wise, etc)?

Charr – because they look absolutely ridiculous with that face mask. No but seriously Human because every other race in RP sensibility are silly. Asura would be the thieves however they apparently move as fast and hit as hard as Norn who are 4 times their size. But they make thief sense because they’re small – and in actual gameplay their clickable area is smaller than any other player class making them harder to target.

Asura. Small, cunning, intelligent and unpredictable creatures. Perfect for Thief.

Lore-wise:

-Humans, since every class makes sense on a human. They are, as always, the opportunists of the game.
-Charrs. They are the most complete military force, and as such, they need spies and scouts. The Ash Legion fits that role perfectly.
-Sylvari, since they can be considered the nimble/elfish race of GW2. Also, Caithe is a thief.
-Asuras, because of their size and their cunning/intelligent temper.

Norn makes less sense, even if we get to see one during the Vigil personal story. We can even talk to him about his choice of career, showing that Norn Thieves are actually quite rares.

Look-wise:

-Humans : No problems, one of their cultural set is just made for them.
-Most of the Charr players will agree, it’s hard to get a good looking medium Charr, especialy if you are not into the trenchcoat/scoundrel style. The duelist can be interesting.
-Sylvari : Looking just fines, especially with a mix of the Cultural / Twilight Arbor.
-Asura : Most medium armors will look fine on Asura, and I personnally have a big crush for the Whisper one on them. (Agent Batanga <3)

I have all 8 professions at 80, utilizing all 5 races (3x Human, 2x Asura, 1x everything else).

In hindsight, I wish I had made them all Asura. Armor just looks so good on them, for all armor types. I’m just glad I made my Thief an Asura.

Ash legion (charr) is basically designed for thieves. Note that charr look ugly in both masks and pirate hats, so you may want to either hide your headgear or keep a bunch of regular transmute stones on hand for an anon hood

asuran race is very hard to target. or i should say MUCH more so than a norn char or even humans etc.

especially as a thief hopping all around.

Come on, can an asura look this bad kitten And norn thieves don’t makemuch sense to me. How can something that big be sneaky? Charr make sense, humans always make sense, and the sylvari are new so they have that air of mystery surrounding them.

lol all races have the same click box or targeting box it no more diffiult to click an asura than it is a norn Anet specifically said this

Asuras DON’T have smaller hit boxes just as they don’t have less reach with their weapons
