Post Thief Builds
People are just overreacting. D/D is viable, D/P is viable, S/D is viable but tougher due to the followup, and /P is still fun for wrecking mesmers. Give people a few days to calm down, the ones RQ’ing are the same people saying Ranger is OP.

Yeah I dont exactly know how much the thief changed but ive read a lot of people saying that P/D is the only good weap set left. Although ill probably still go D/D or D/P, which weap set is best for pvp? coz i plan to do it a lot when I one day hit 80 lol
D/D is I think more viable than D/P, due to the nerf. S/D is much more difficult. You could go S/D, P/D to get them to waste their didges while your on P/D to get your sword larcenous strike to hit, but it makes thiefs much more interesting to play atm, especially with the stealth/steal bug(maybe)
So far I am having a blast with the revised p/p and ricochet. I use d/p off hand. Firing that unload into zergs with a high crit rate does lots of damage. the autoattack on the main hand P is also better with the extra range and bounces..
The extra range really helps and especially when firing on people defending walls on keeps.
I have never noticed before but if I fire on a pot of boiling oil as example the ricochet will hit arrow carts and persons I normally do not have a LOS to. It indirect fire in this respect. The extra range over the shortbow allows me to hit things I could not hit before even with the shortbows arcing attacks.
The new Runes of Evasion are very intriguing. With those I can up my toughness using knights trinkets while still keeping the precision/ferocity I want in my build. The CRIT will still be at 200+ percent.
If I go 1/6/0/3/4 each dodge should get me 6 seconds swiftness the extra fury and that crippling strike which will help keep range with the p/p build.
So far so good. We will see how it all shakes out as people fine tune their skills.

P/P Unload spam is more than “viable”.
Get in on it now, that kitten is getting nerfed.
i recommend long reach because you will be playing against 90% rangers

What traits and skills do you use? and stats does your gear have?

I use this currently. Please note it Wvw.
The trinkets I am still working on. The aim is to get more of the high precision knights so as to get the armor to 2400. This will keep crit rate over 80 (fury is usually up close to 100 percent of time so all shots crits to proc the ghost/ip heal.) I can do this whilekeeping the crit damage at 200 percent.
Once guard stacks/bloodlust thrown in the power decent enough. I might work on getting the base higher.
The off hand weapons I have been switching a lot. I like the closer on d/p with number three and the heartseeker as a finisher. Only off hand set I could not get to work well with this so far is s/d . S/d is not too good right now.

Apparently runes of evasion have a 10 second cooldown on each of the boons.
Not as good as i had envisioned. I really do not know why they warranted an ICD at all since dodges are limited.
