Preparedness – 15 points in Trickery (Condition Damage trait tree) – Increases maximum initiative by 3.

Now by rework, I don’t mean change how many points or anything that it gives. What I mean is, as a Thief main, I find it quite annoying when I run a Zerk build that I have to put 15 points in Trickery for this arguably necessary trait. It has become annoying for me atleast because I’m losing out on either the Grandmaster trait skill on either Deadly Arts or Critical Strikes.

Now this may not sound like a really big deal and, to be honest, it’s not. I just think the trait would be better aligned at a 10 point, or a 5 point in any tree. 15 points is just an annoying investment, that’s all.

All of the thieves Initiative based traits should be reworked (with the possible exception of kleptomania). They’re currently far too necessary for any sort of effective build.

Base thief Init regen should be bumped, init regen traits (including preparedness) should be reduced/modified to be more active so that the end result is a smaller gap between traited and untraited init regen, but not faster init regen overall.

Example – Fleet of foot and Quick recovery should be combined into this – Remove 1 condition and restore 1 init on dodge, 5s ICD.

If you’re a thief and haven’t
pre-ordered HOT at this point,
save yourself the money and don’t bother.

Preparedness is a great trait and I will never play without it.
But I think he is good how he is, also the ini reg, so:

No, I dont think its need a rework.
