PvE Leveling, Need Help
If you’re really having trouble you can use S/P or D/P and just let the blind field (#5) do the work for you while you auto attack.
If you actually want to get anywhere as a thief, though, you’ll have to learn to avoid damage via mobility. In PvE, even against 3+ mobs, you should be taking very little damage just by constantly staying mobile with WASD movement and dodging to fill the gaps or get out of the way of telegraphed attacks.
Equipping a melee weapon and practicing movement until you take very little damage in PvE is going to be a lot more rewarding than spamming blind fields or kiting your way to 80, both in the sense that it’ll likely be more fun and in the sense that it’ll prepare you for life as a thief requiring you to not get hit.
signet of malice + cond dmg green/masterwork gear + caltrops + dagger/dagger Deathblossoms
I find s/p is the best for pve with the constant blind. Alt i like to use shortbow. Some times i use p\d for kiting which is perfect.
Thanks guys, I’ll start experimenting with some of this. I use p/p 90% of the time, I keep moving and I don’t get hit, but it seems like a lot of people say that s/p does a lot more dmg?
Any advice on fighting multiple mobs?

With a sword? Stay mobile, bunch them up so you’re hitting 3 with each auto attack, and use Signet of Malice so you get 3 heals per strike. There’s not really much to it once you’re able to avoid damage in melee range. Kiting (what you’re doing with P/P) is a good way to avoid damage, but fundamentally different from avoiding damage in melee range. With kiting you just have to keep mobs from closing with you while you shoot them, with sword you’ll have to learn how to move around the target to avoid attacks without breaking melee range.
I use D/D and SB on switch with high condition.
I usually try to round up a group, death blossom a couple of times then dodge out (have dodge on key bind, double tap dodge sucks). I have the trait to drop caltrops when I dodge so the group gets slowed and bleeds more, then I just make Like Ali and dance around them as they slowly bleed out or refresh the rotation when init gets built back up.
I found this much than trying to kite with a pistol or SB and can do it with pretty big groups and even with veterans in the mix.
Rusty, what’s your trait build look like?
