First of all sry for my bad english in advance.

I have a few questions about the Elite-Skill “Daggerstorm” due the Wiki don’t provide me with the informations I need. (or my english is too bad to understand it)

How many projectiles really Daggerstorm has?

The wiki says:
“One foe may be hit directly by up to 8 projectiles, at the rate of about one per second. The number of hits is directly proportional to the distance between the foe and the thief, with one dagger hit from the skill’s maximum 900 range distance, and 8 hits while standing directly on target.”

So does Daggerstorm hit 5(maximum AoE cap)x1 projectile from a range of 900 and
5(maximum AoE cap)x8 projectiles if you stand in the enemy?

And what are actually projectile finishers?
Just the reflecting projectiles or even the daggers itself?

and the Wiki also says:
“Each dagger will bounce once to a nearby target when it hits.”

Are these projectiles as well?

On more question.

The Wiki says:
“Some projectile finishers (most skills in the first slot of the skill bar as well as multiple projectile skills) only grant a 20% chance of applying the effect for each projectile; this is usually noted on the tooltip for the skill.”

Is Daggerstorm on of the skills which just have a 20% of applying the effect for each projectile?

Thanks in advance.

best regards!

Daggerstorm seems to have a lot of projectiles since you can hit multiple targets. It isn’t particularly helpful to think about one target at a set distance since since you nearly always use against multiple mobile enemies while you are moving too. You get more daggers when you are close to enemies, so spinning just outside their melee range seems best (safest).

A projectile finisher is a type of finisher for a combo field. If you use a projectile finisher in a poison field it becomes a poisoned dagger, and so on. Daggerstorm will always be a projectile finisher. A skill like unload has multiple shots and each one of those shots has a 20% chance of being a projectile finisher. The combo finisher for daggerstorm seems to trigger when the skill starts and not if you move into a field during the daggerstorm.

I have never really thought that much about Dagger Storm and how it works… All I know is that when I activate it I’ll see lots of numbers and daggers flying all over the place. Exactly how many projectiles i have no idea about, but this is certainly something I’m going to test in the Mists!

Daggerstorm is indeed whirl finisher. That whirl finisher sends off some poison bolts if you trigger it in a poison field, for example. The OP can test daggerstorm on the traget dummies in Lion’s Arch to see direction and frequency of the daggers.

How about a projectile that already went though a combo field?

I read before that a projectile can only be a finisher for one combo field. Is this still true? Or you can have projectikitten uncing back and forth between two thieves in daggerstorm standing on different fields finishing different combos? I assume the latter will cause a lot of problems.

http://sirvincentiii.com ~ In the beginning…there was Tarnished Coast…
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.

Either a bounced projectile cannot be reflected again, or the second bounce restarts from the base projectile effect and so just picks up a new combo effect on the way while discarding the original. Or it bounces with the original combo effect attached and cannot pick up another one.
